Former harness-racing horse trainer from New Jersey, Ernest Bohn, won Event #40 $1,500 Stud 8. It was his first bracelet victory. He outlasted a tough final table that included Max Pescatori, ZeeJustin, and Ted Forrest. Bohn denied Forrest a seventh bracelet and denied Pescatori a fifth win.
Ship it to Ernest Bohn! Chalk up another win for the old guys, as another retired gentleman took down a bracelet this week. New Jersey's Ernest Bohn previously trained harness racing horses in his former life. Now, the 68-year old is happily retired and crushing Stud 8 souls in Vegas!
Ernest “Ernie” Bohn faded a field of 595 players to win his first bracelet. Yup, just another late Thursday night with Stud action at the Rio! Bohn earned a payday worth $173K… in only his fourth-ever tournament.
Event #40 $1,500 Stud 8 - Final Results
The Italian Pirate had his eyes on a fifth bracelet. Fellow Italian Walter Treccarichi also embarked on a run for the bling. With ten to go on the final table bubble, both Italians were short stacked.
Don Zewin went out just before the final table in tenth place. Treccarichi was the first player to bust at the unofficial final table. He actually bubbled out in ninth place. At the final table, Pescatori chipped up to the top three, while Hal Rotholz sat atop a stack were over 1M. Both ZeeJustin and Ted Forrest advanced to the final table.
Alas, Ted Forrest busted first at the final table. The Vegas-based old-school pro previously won six bracelets and was seeking number seven. Looks like Ted will have to wait a little while longer.
The Italian Pirate Max Pescatori walked the plank in sixth place. ZeeJustin went out right after him in fifth.
When Hal Rotholz busted in third place, it set up a heads-up bout between William Kohler and Ernie Bohn. The two slugged it out until the wee hours as Thursday bled into Friday morning. After roughly 1.5 hours of Stud8 heads-up action, Kohler busted in second place. Bohn went on to win his first bracelet in only the fourth event he's ever played. So sick!
Former champ Joe Hachem went deep in this Stud 8 event, but the Aussie busted in 21st place.
Notables who cashed and went deep... Miami John Cernuto, Chris Bjorin, Mike Leah, Philip Hu, Chainsaw Kessler, Jeff Madsen, HOLLYWOOD DAVE, Carl Fuchs, John Racener, Chris Vitch, The Grinder, Chip Jett, Roland Israelashvili, and Frank Kassela.
