The 2018 PCA completed its first weekend of poker action at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas. The first event on the schedule was a $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller. As expected, many of the usual suspects took a shot at SHR-glory and a shot at the first-place prize worth $1.4M. The SHR attracted a total of 48 entries (plus an additional 12 re-entries). The total prize pool exceeded $4.7M. Comedian/actor/celebrity Kevin Hart took a shot at the 100K, but as expected, he was dead money. At least Hart had a good time, had a few laughs, and tilted a few super-serious pros along the way, right? Hey, poker needs more dead money like Hart in the game to help generate more cash, which in turn will boost the crypto-portfolios for the high-balla-collective of sharks and other apex predators.
Ivan Luca from Argentina bagged up the most chips at the end of Day 2. Luca is sitting on 2.76M. American pro Justin Bonomo is right behind Luca with a shade under 2.7M. Daniel Negreanu also has a healthy stack with 2.4M. Rounding out the table are... Bryn Kenney, Ike Haxton, Cary Katz, and Sam Greenwood.
Erik Seidel bubbled when he busted in eighth place. Seidel missed out on a min-cash worth $248K.
Italian superstar Mustapha Kanit was the last player from Italy (and Europe as well) in the 100K. Yeah, what happened to all the Germans? Kanit went deep, but missed the money when he hit the road in ninth place.
Kevin Hart went sorta deep and made Day 2. Alas, Hart's run would end with two tables still remaining. The comedian busted in approximately 14th place.
Others who went deep, but missed the final table... Stevie Chidwick, Chris Kruk, Jason Koon, David Peters, Seth Davies, and Jean-Noel Thorel.
The big shocker this far... Steve O'Dwyer busted out before the final two tables were set. I know, crazy, right? SOD and the Germans failed to dominate this SHR.
