The 2018 PCA Main Event is the marquee event at the annual throwdown at the Atlantis Casino in the Bahamas. This year's $10K buy-in Main Event attracted 582 runners. The prize pool is over $5.6 million. Only the top 87 places paid out with the champ banking $1,081,100. Yup, the winner of this year's PCA will leave the Bahamas with at least $1 million.
These days, what's fiat currency anyway? Then again, you can do a lot with a cool mil. The first-place PCA score gets paid out in US greenbacks, which could buy you a plethora of alt-coins. At current market value, $1 million will snare you 811 Ethereum, or 72.5 Bitcoin, or 4,237 LiteCoin, or 496,000 Ripple. Of course, by the time you read this... the actual numbers will change due to the hyper-crazy volatility of the cryptos.
Noatbles still alive in the Bahamas... Adrian Mateos, Keith Lehr, David Peters, Maria Konnikova, Kevin MacPhee, Tony Philips, Jack Sinclair, Shawn Buchanan, Harrison Gimbel, Lucas Greenwood, Victor Ramdin, Liv Boeree, Kevin Martin, Koray Aldemir, Dario Marinelli, Leo Margets, James Murphy, Ivan Luca, and Barry Greenstein.
