The 2018 World Championship of Online Poker is almost here. The 2018 WCOOP has 162 events this year with over $70 million in guaranteed prize pools plus additional prizes worth over $116 million in guaranteed prizes. Also, there will be 6 Platinum Passes to the 2019 PSPC in the Bahamas up for grabs. 2018 WCOOP runs from September 2 through September 17.

The WCOOP is just around the corner. Summer is almost over and its nearly time for the 2018 World Championship of Online Poker, which kicks off on PokerStars on Sunday, September 2. For the next two weeks, the WCOOP will boast 162 tournaments including the Main Event Championship, which has a $10 million guaranteed prize pool. Overall, there will be $70 million in guaranteed prize pools and over $116 million in total giveaways.
With Platinum Passes all the rage these days, PokerStars is also handing out six Platinum Passes throughout the 2018 WCOOP.
This year's installment of WCOOP will consist of 162 tournaments. As per usual, these events will have 3 tiers of buy-ins ranging from $2.20 to $25,000 and for players of all bankroll sizes. The Main Event will not have a low version, but there will be a Medium ($55 buy-in and $1M guarantee) and High ($5,200 buy-in and $10M guarantee).
There will be tons of PKOs, a little Deep Stacks action, and Turbo-charged events for those action junkies. There's HORSE, Razz, 6-Max PLO, Stud8, 4-Max PLO, 8-Game, 5-Card PLO, NL O8, and much much more. Click here to see a full schedule of events.
The tagline for 2018 is... "THIS IS YOUR WCOOP." Sounds catchy.
According to Director of Poker Innovation and Operations, Severin Rasset, "Each year, players from around the world come together at PokerStars to battle it out in the WCOOP. The three-tier buy-in system that we have introduced this year means that everyone can enjoy the WCOOP action over 16 days, giving everyone a shot at becoming a PokerStars world champion of online poker."
You can win seats into the $5,200 Main Event through a very special edition of Spin & Go running through September 16. These $5 and $25 Spin & Gos will reward players with WCOOP tickets and a potential entry into the Main Event $5,200.
Also, PokerStars is running a daily satellite (only $55 buy-in) through September 16. According to the press release, they are "adding more than $114,000 in value with 22 $5,200 Main Event seats up for grabs over the 22 days."
There are a couple of $25K High Rollers on the 2018 WCOOP schedule. WCOOP Event #16-H is a $25,000 PLO 6-Max that has a $1M guarantee. That kicks off 5 September at 13:00. Event #43-H is a $25,000 NL (8-Max) High Roller with a $2M guarantee. That starts on 12 September at 13:00.
There's also a trio of $10K High Rollers with Event #12 $10,300 NL (8-Max), Event #19-H $10,300 NL (8-Max), and Event #54-H $10,300 8-Game.
