The 2019 World Series of Poker will be here before you know it. For the 50th running of the donks, this year's festivities at the Rio Casino include an expanded schedule featuring 89 bracelet events. Yes, that's 89 chances for Phil Hellmuth to pad his stats. That's 89 chances for dreamers to take their shot at glory and cash. That's 89 chances for degens to win prop bets. That's 89 chances for flukes to prove to everyone, especially themselves, that they didn't actually luck-donk their way into the winner's circle. 89 events and 89 opportunities to earn street cred. Or at the least, boost your Hendon Mob stats.
The 50th incarnation of the WSOP begins at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 29. It will run through mid-July with cards going in the air for the final event on Monday, July 15th. The WSOP Main Event final table should be wrapped up by Wednesday, July 17th (live on ESPN).
You don't actually have to go to the Rio Casino to win a piece of bling this year. The WSOP hosts nine online events with seven of them on Sundays. That's great for Sunday grinders and it also gives locals a chance to win a piece of bling before calling in sick to work on Monday.
This year's menu of ONLINE events includes the coveted $1K Championship and a $3,200 HIGH ROLLER for all those ballas out there. There's also a KO Bounty, Turbo Deepstack, Doublestack, and 6-Max events. There's only one PLO event, while NL seems to be the popular attraction.
The majority of online events have price tags under $1K, which makes it very affordable and highly attractive. The lowest buy-in is $400 with other events at $500 and $800. Those should be juicy pools.
The first online bracelet event kicks off on Sunday June 2 with a $400 donk trap. The final event will be the last Sunday of the 2019 WSOP with Event #88 $500 ONLINE NL Summer Saver
For all of you Omahaolics, the solo PLO event on the online slate will be on Sunday June 9 with Event #24 $600 ONLINE PLO 6-Max.
Event #68 $1,000 WSOP ONLINE NL CHAMPIONSHIP commences at 3:30pm on Sunday, July 30.
Please note that Event #74 $3,200 ONLINE HIGH ROLLER NL will take place on a Wednesday and not a Sunday. Event #74 ONLINE HIGH ROLLER is slated for Wednesday July 3.
