Nathan 'surfbum' Gamble won 2020 WSOP Online Event #6 Omaha Hi/Lo for his second-career bracelet for a score worth $89,424. Back in 2017, Gamble binked a PLO8 event for $233K to win his first WSOP bracelet. Jonathan 'Art.Vandelay' Dokler won the first bracelet of the 2020 WSOP Online in the Kick-Off event. Other winners through the first week of action include... Louis 'PokeThese' Lynch, Robert 'BustinBalls' Kuhn, Matt 'Bodeyster' Bode, and Allen 'Acnyc718' Chang.

The 2020 World Series of Poker Online kicked off over at WSOP.com. Through the first week, they handed out six bracelets.... yup... the online version of the WSOP will be awarded real life bracelets via 31 events at WSOP.com Consider a little piece of history, or pandemic bling history if you will.

WSOP Online Event #1 $500 Kick-off attracted 1,715 players and a prize pool over $771K. Jonathan 'Art.Vandelay' Dokler costanza'd his way to the final table and inevitable winner's circle. He banked $130,420 for the win. Event #1's final table also included Tony Dunst, who busted in third place. Phil Helmuth missed out on a final table when he busted in 11th place. Other notables who cashed included Jon Turner, JJ Liu, Ryan Tosoc, Matt Stout, Matt Matusow, Sean Yu, Gordon Vayo, Jeff Gross, Connor Berkowitz, Raj Patel, Tom Cannuli, Alex Rocha, David Bakes Baker, Andy Bloch, Porter Lambert, Tara Cain, Olivier Busquet, James Carroll, Randy Ohel, Eddy Sabat, Steve Gross, Ari Engel, and Mike Noori.

The second event on the docket, a $1K Deepstack 8-Max, attracted 919 runners and a prize pool over $873K. Louis 'PokeThese' Lynch banked $168,585.95 for first place. The top 143 places paid out. Daniel Negreanu is sweating a million dollar bracelet bet, but he missed the final table when he whiffed in 18th place. Event #2's final table included Jason Somerville, who busted in sixth place. Notables who cashed in Event #2 included Allen Chang, Shannon Shorr, Daniel Negreanu, Eddie Sabat, Clayton Maguire, Connor Drinan, Kathy Liebert, Ben Yu, Simon Deadman, Pete Carini, Roland Israelashvili, Jim Collopy, Ralph Perry, Joe Cheong, and Jon Turner.

Robert Kuhn binked Event #3 $400 NL for a score worth $115,850. Kuhn, playing under 'BustinBalls' faded a field of 2,091 runners, who created a prize pool worth $752,760. The final table included Ted Lui and Roland Israelashvili. Daniel Negreanu missed another shot a bracelet but he cashed and busted in 275th. Matt 'Bodeyster' Bode emerged victorious in Event #4 $500 Super Turbo. he outlasted a field of 1,179 runners in the turbo-charged event. The prize pool topped $530K and the top 180 places paid out. The final table included Kevin MacPhee, Caitlin Dillon, and Shawn Daniels. Phil Hellmuth went somewhat deep but the Poker Brat's run ended in 43rd place. Doug Polk vs. Daniel Negreanu: Heads-up Grudge Match

The weirdness of 2020 continues with the 'Million Dollar Grudge Match' and the latest bit of drama driving the news cycle in the poker world. Doug Polk confirmed that he will battle Daniel Negreanu in an online heads-up match playing NL poker at $200/$400 stakes. The two will joust at two tables anywhere between 10K and 25k hands. Once the 2020 WSOP Online concludes, KidPoker and Polk will have their duel.

2020 WSOP Online: Eoghan 'DrRoche' O'Dea wins first bracelet

The O'Dea clan, the first family of poker in Ireland, includes the legendary Donnacha O'Dea who became the first Irish player to win a WSOP bracelet back in 1998. And 22 years later, Eoghan 'DrRoche' O'Dea, won his first WSOP bracelet with a victory in WSOP Online Event #51 $400 PLO to become the fifth player from Ireland to win a bracelet. Meanwhile, Italy's Enrico 'GTOExploiter' Camosci binked WSOP Online Event #50 $2,100 Bounty Championship for $327,319.

Brazil's Caio 'Pessagno' Pessagno and Fernando 'fviana' Viana Ship Stadium Series Grand Final

The first-ever PokerStars Stadium Series came to an end with the Grand Final. The three-tiered buy-in event had buy-ins ranging from $55 to $530 to $5,200 and Brazilian players won two of the three. Best of all, the Grand Final was an old-school freeze out. In the Stadium Series Grand Final - $530 buy-in Medium, Caio 'Pessagno' Pessagno outlasted 4,234 runners and secured a three-way deal to win $266K. In the Stadium Series Grand Final - $5,200 buy-in High, Fernando 'fviana' Viana faded 971 runners to take down first place and $721,235 (also via a three-way deal).

2020 WSOP Online: 2Rivers ships NL Championship for $310K

The final bracelet event at WSOP.com, the 2020 WSOP Online Event #31 $1,000 NL Championship, attracted 1,455 original runners and 671 additional entries to create a prize pool worth in excess of $2 million. '2Rivers' defeated Norman 'abnormality' Michalek heads-up for the bracelet and $310,832 in cash. Meanwhile, over at GGPoker, Patrick 'Muddington' Kennedy won Event #45 $840 NL Bounty for a $140,768 score plus $104K in bounties. In addition, Sung Joo 'ArtePokerTV' Hyun won Event #46 $500 Deep Stack NL for $161,898, and Paul Teoh took down Event #47 $1,000 Short Deck NL for $82,202 and the bracelet.

BAM! Poker fight video from the King's Casino in RozVegas

The King's Casino in RozVegas hosted the Balkan Poker Tour and a fight broke out at the tables during the Main Event and a quick brawl ensued that happened to be captured in a video by someone on the rail. The King's in RozVegas has been one of the few poker rooms on the planet running tournaments while the coronavirus pandemic rages around the world and caused major tours like the WSOP to postpone or cancel out right like the EPT.

2020 WSOP Online: Joon Kim and Alan Goehring ship bracelets

The 2020 WSOP Online awarded two more bracelets to Joon 'jykpoker' Kim and Alan 'GladiusIII' Goehring. Kim won WSOP Online Event #7 $800 NL Knockout Deepstack for $103,127, after fading a field of 989 runners. The Surge: Los Angeles card rooms shut down after reopening

The USA is drastically spiking with coronavirus cases rising in 40 out of 50 states. Governors have been scaling back reopenings. In Los Angeles, card rooms and poker rooms were shut down when Governor Gavin Newsom ordered casinos to be closed. At the start of June, several of the most popular card rooms in LA reopened such as Commerce, the Bike, and Hustler. They've all shut their doors indefinitely while the pandemic peaks in SoCal during the Fourth of July holiday.

The Biggest Bluff: How I Learned to Pay Attention, Master Myself, and Win by Maria Konnikova

Journalist and author, Maria Konnikova, recently published a new book about her experiences learning poker and taking down a big event in the Bahamas. Erik Seidel took Maria Konnikova under his wing and a short time, she became a decent poker player en route to a victory in a side event at the 2018 PCA for $84K. She chronicled her experiences in a non-fiction book published by Penguin titled 'The Biggest Bluff: How I Learned to Pay Attention, Master Myself, and Win'.
