Oh, Canada! Two players from Canada went the distance to win the last two WSOP Online events and one of them prevented an Italian from winning his second WSOP online bracelet of the month. The 2020 World Series of Poker Online at GGPoker is coming down the final stretch and it's been a weird and wild ride with lots of bumps and bruises. Oh, and how about the cash out scandals and the Main Event overlay? Yeah, 2020 has been one of the craziest years in recent history and that oddness and craziness spilled over into the WSOP Online.
But hey, two more players stepped into the winner's circle for the first time and won coveted WSOP bracelets. And yes, both were from North of the Border (from the Vegas perspective), where there's always been a collection of awesome oddball gamblers and cardslingers over the last half-century.
2020 WSOP Online Event #73 $1,000 NLHE 6-Handed attracted 2,202 entrants and a prize pool in excess of $2.1 million. The top 314 places paid out with nearly $300K set aside to the eventual champion.
Seungmook "7high" Jung bubbled the final table in seventh place.
The Event #73 $1,000 NLHE 6-Handed final table included... Jim 'grousegrind" Lefteruk, Endrit "YOUWILLLOSE" Geci, Jorge "bemjogadogg" Abreu, Ivan Luca, Andrii "D0ntB1uffMe" Derzhypilskyi, and Markku "ExVang" Koplimaa.
Bracelet winner Ivan Luca missed out on another piece of bling when he hit the bricks in fourth place.
Endrit 'YOUWILLLOSE' Geci and Jim 'grousegrind" Lefteruk battled heads-up for the bracelet. But Canada's Lefteruk emerged as the winner when he knocked out the UK's Geci.
YOUWILLLOSE banked $234K for the runner-up finish. Not too shabby, eh? Jim 'grousegrind" Lefteruk earned a first-place payout worth $299,500. Oh, and plus the bling.
Notable players who went deep and cashed in Event #73 included... Nicolas Chouity, Daniel Colpys, Kevin MacPhee, Conor Beresford, Chi Chung Ho, Patrick "Muddington" Kennedy and Anant "MisterPro" Purohit.
Over in WSOP Online Event #74 $1,500 PLO, 972 runners took a shot at the $1.4 million prize pool and the PLO bracelet. The top 134 places paid out.
Antti 'Botripper' Nieminen from Finland bubbled the final table in tenth place.
The difficult PLO final table included... Thi Truong, Enrico Camosci, Dante Goya, Joao Simao, Laurynas Levinskas, Kyle Bowker, Frank Crivello, Sean Winter, and Johannes Toebbe. American pros Winter busted in eighth place, while Kyle Bowker hit the road in sixth place.
Enrico Camosci was seeking his second bracelet of the 2020 WSOP Online at GGPoker. The young Italian pro binked Event #49 $2,100 NL Bounty Championship for over $327K at the beginning of the month. He went deep... but couldn't knock out Truong.
Camosci busted in second place in Event #74. He earned $165,420 for a second-place finish. Not too shabby, eh?
For the PLO victory, Thi Truong banked $215,938 and the bling.
