The 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju, South Korea is in full swing at the Landing Casino with an 18-day festival. The first event set a new record with 379 runners, and Zhao Hongjun banked $818,000 for his victory in Event #1 $15,000 NLH. Foo Wai snagged $1.35 million for his win in Event #2 $20,000 NLH. Amrerican pro Jeremy Ausmus shipped Event #3 $25,000 NLH, which was another record-setting affair with 391 runners, and he banked almost $1.9 million. Ramin Hajiyev was the last player standing in Event #5 $30,000 NLH, and he won over $1.5 million for outlasting a field of 252 entries.

Get ready for some more nosebleed action in South Korea. Jeju Island is the location of the latest stop on the swanky Triton Poker tour. The first installment of 2025 featured a return to Korea. The Landing Casino will host the 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju with an action-packed festival that includes 18 tournaments in 18 days. The three primary formats are No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, and the insanely popular Short Deck. As expected, mega bucks will change hands and records have already been broken at Jeju.

2025 Triton SHR Jeju Event #1 $15,000 NLH attracted 266 unique players and 113 additional entries for 379 total entrants. The organizers were thrilled that they set an attendance record with the kick-off event. The previous record occurred one year ago at the 2024 Triton Jeju with 305 entries. This year's new record included 266 unique players and 113 additional entries for 379 in total.

"We are all enormously happy to see the Triton Series break records yet again in Jeju," said Triton CEO Andy Wong. "It's always especially exciting to see so many new faces discovering Triton for the first time. We are extremely proud of the events we arrange, which we know are the best on offer in world poker. The number of players we continue to attract proves it, and it gives the whole team so much pleasure to see so many people enjoying the Triton experience. We know they will all be back."

Event #1 had a prize pool of over $5.68 million and the top 63 places paid out. Several Americans cashed, but missed the final table, including Jason Koon, Steve O'Dwyer, David Peters, Ebony Kenney, and Jonathan Jaffe. Other noteworthy pros also cashed including Dietrich Fast, Adrian Mateos, Thomas Muhlocker, Kahle Bruns, Espen Jorstad, Michael Addamo, Joao Vieia, and Artur Martirosian. Players from China finished in the Top 3. Zhen Chen busted in third place, which set up a heads-up battle between Yuzhu Wang and Zhao Hongjun. They agreed on a heads-up deal in which Wang earned $975,000. When the dust settled, Hongjun defeated Wang for the title and banked $818,000 based on their deal.

Event #2 $20,000 NLH attracted 348 entries and a prize pool of $6.96 million. The final table was a nice mix of international players with eight countries represented. Amatuer Tuck Wai Foo from Malaysia outlasted a touch final table that included Tuck Wai Foo, Mario Mosbock, Igor Yaroshevskyy, Michael Gathy, Ren Lin, Andrei Kotelnikov, Jon Ander Vallinas, and Calvin Lee. It was Austria and Malaysia heads-up for the title. Mario Mosbock from Austria settled on second place, while Foo banked $1.35 million for his victory.

Among the noteworthy players who cashed in Event #2 included Chris Park, Ben Heath, Matas Cimbolas, Chris Brewer, Adam Hendrix, Sam Greenwood, David Coleman, Cal Anderson, Aram Oganyan, Thomas Santerne, Bn Tollerene, Justin Saliba, and Dan Smith.

It took a couple of days in Jeju before Triton Poker set another new attendance record. Event #3 $25,000 NLH attracted 391 total entries including 163 re-entries. The record-breaking field surpassed Event #1's previous record of 379 runners.

The prize pool for Event #3 swelled to $9.775 million and the top 63 places paid out. American pro Jeremy Ausmus showed while the six-time WSOP bracelet winner is one of the premier tournament players in the world. Ausmus prefers to stay stateside and does not play too many international events, so his appearance was a rare treat. He averted disaster with 23 players to go, and spun up stack. He was second in chips when the final table began.

The final nine also included Zhou Quan, Sim Kok Wai, Alexander Seibt, Maksim Vaskresenski, Paulius Vaitiekunas, Shunjiro Kita, Matthias Eibinger, and Aliaksandr Shylko.

In a heads-up joust between China and USA, it was the American who was the last player standing. Ausmus secured another seven-figure score to his impressive resume with a first-place prize worth $1,892,000. Zhou Quan won $1.19 million for a runner-up finish. Not too shabby, eh?

Among those who went deep and cashed in Event #3 included Phil Ivey, Thomas Boivin, Fedor Holz, Juan Pardo, Kahle Burns, Martin Zamani, Stephen Song, Patrik Antonius, Adrian Mateos, Ebony Kenney, Brock Wilson, Dietrich Fast, Steve O'Dwyer, Poseidon Ho, Dan Smith, Diogo Coelho, Tom Vogelsang, Chance Kornuth, Justin Saliba, Danny Tang, Kristen Foxen, Punnat Punsri, Zhen Chen, Luc Greenwood, Stephen Chidwick, David Coleman, and Ben Tollerene.

Event #5 $30,000 NLH attracted 252 runners and a prize pool worth $7.56 million. The top 39 places paid out with the top two winning at least seven figures including more than $1.5 million set aside to the winner. Event #5's final table included Ramin Hajiyev, Viacheslav Balaev, Renji Mao, Winfred Yu, Manuel Fritz, Sam Greenwood, Brandon Wilson, and Kahle Burns.

It was a classic confrontation between Russia and Azerbaijan for the title, but Russian newcomer Viacheslav Balaev could not thwart Azerbaijan's Ramin Hajiyev. Hajiyev knocked out Balaev in second place, which paid out a smidge over $1 million. Hajiyev won $1.517 million for being the last one standing in the $30K event. Hajiyev secured his second Triton title. He previously won the 2023 Luxon Invitational in Cyprus.

David Peters missed the final eight when he busted in ninth place. Other notables who went deep and cashed included Poseidon Ho, Artur Martirosian, Leon Sturm, Christoph Vogelsang, Emilien Pitavy, Matas Cimbolas, Rainer Kempe, Nacho Barbero, Anatoly Filatov, Alex Foxen, Aram Oganyan, Dietrich Fast, Isaac Haxton, Dylan Linde, Mikita Badziakouski, Ben Heath, Nick Petrangelo, and Michael Jozoff.

Shannon Shorr snags 2025 US Poker Open championship

The 2025 US Poker Open concluded at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. Shannon Shorr won two events with victories in Event #5 $10,100 NLH and Event #8 $25,200 NLH to lock up the coveted golden eagle trophy awarded to the player of the series. Shorr edged out Matthew Wantman, who won Event #4 $10,100 NLH, and final tabled three events. Other winners in the USPO high roller series included Kristen Foxen, Kazuomi Furuse, Michael Rossitto, Brandon Wilson, and Alex Foxen.

2025 PGT: Jesse Lonis named PLO Series champion

The 2025 PGT PLO Series concluded at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. After 11 events, American pro Jesse Lonis earned Player of the Series Champion honors with the top spot on the leaderboard. Lonis cashed in five events and shipped Event #9 $15,100 PLO for a $204,750 score, and held off Alex Foxen to earn the PLO series overall title. Some of the more recent winners included Christopher Costa, Dylan Smith, Bryce Yockey, Jim Collopy, and Zachary Schwartz.

PGT PLO Series: Chino Rheem, Daniel Negreanu, Ky Nguyen, Billy Tarango win events

The 2025 PGT PLO Series is underway at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. The latest high-roller PLO series features 11 events and four are in the books. Ky "SuitedSuperman" Nguyen shipped Event #1 $5,100 PLO. In the second one, Blly Tarango took down Event #2 $5,100 PLO Progressive Bounty. The third one made history when Daniel Negreanu set a record with his 11th PGT title after he binked Event #3 $5,100 PLO. The latest winner is Chino Rheem after he won Event #4 $10,100 PLO for a $295,000 score.

2025 Triton Jeju: Wenjie Huang, Joao Vieira, Punnat Punsri big winners

The 2025 Triton high roller series in Jeju, South Korea continued. Some winners over the last week included Bryn Kenny, Sean Winter, Joao Vieira, Punnat Punsri, Gergo Nagy, Tom-Aksel Bedell, Wenjie Huang, Mario Mosbock, and Anatoly Filatov. Joao Vieira shipped Event #9 $150,000 NLH Eight Max for a hefty $4.6 million score when he faded 128 runners. Wenjie Huang banked $5.55 million when he took down Event #11 $100,000 NLH Main Event, which attracted 285 entrants. Thai pro Punsri snagged nearly $2.6 million for winning Event #12 $125,000 No-Limit Hold'em Seven Max.

2025 PGT Mixed Games: Chino Rheem snags series championship

American pro Chino Rheem won his second PGT Mixed Games series championship and secured the top spot on the leaderboard for the 2025 PGT Mixed Games series with 384 points. Rheem won Event #4 $10,200 Eight Game Mix and cashed three times for $348,500. He was awarded a PGT Gold Cup and a $10,000 PGT Passport as the series champion. Other winners in this seven-event series included Daniel Negreanu, James Obst, Nicolas Milgrom, Ryan Miller, Maxx Coleman, and Adam Friedman.

Phil Hellmuth skipping the 2025 WSOP Main Event

The World Series of Poker released their schedule for the 2025 WSOP this week. Phil Hellmuth, the 1989 WSOP Main Event Champion and all-time bracelet leader with 17, said he will not play in this year's WSOP Main Event. Hellmuth released a video explaining why he's not playing because he lacks the stamina at 60 years old to play the Main Event due to its grueling schedule and long days.

2025 WSOP schedule released

The 2025 World Series of Poker will begin on May 27 and run through July 16 at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas on the Strip. The 2025 WSOP will have 100 bracelet events kicking off with Event #1 Mystery Millions with at least $1 million set aside to first place and a $1 million top bounty. The 2025 WSOP Main Event will begin on July 2 with Day 1A and a new champion will be crowned on July 16.

Mississippi Grind: 10 Years Later

Ten years have almost passed since the release of "Mississippi Grind" with Ben Mendelsohn and Ryan Reynolds. The 2015 film directed by Anna Bolden and Ryan Fleck holds up as one of the better poker and gambling films. Circus Circus owner seeks $5 billion for sale

Phil Ruffin purchased the Circus Circus Casino in 2019 and six years later he's looking to flip it for more nearly six times the price. Ruffin's asking price is $5 billion for Circus Circus and the adjacent property that includes over 100 aces in the North end of the Las Vegas Strip. Whomever buys the property will certainly implode Circus Circus Casino and the area is rumored to be redevloped as a mega-resort casino, a new NBA arena, or a film studio.

Phil Hellmuth joins BetRivers as new ambassador

Phil Hellmuth has a new gaming sponsor. The 17-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and well-known 'Poker Brat' joins BetRivers as their newest brand ambassador. Hellmuth will take on an expanded role in the BetRivers Network which also includes an uptick in appearances on Poker Night in America. He will also be pitching their new online poker platform, which is currently live in Pennsylvania, and has plans to expand to other states. Hellmuth will attend Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans as one of his first major public appearances for BetRivers.

2025 PGT Last Chance: Shannon Shorr ships two events

The first series of the new calendar year finish in Las Vegas at the Aria Casino with the 2025 PGT Last Chance, which also had potential implications for the upcoming $1,000,000 Championship Freeroll. Shannon Shorr and Brandon Wilson each won two events, while Nick Schulman and Martin Zamani both shipped one event. Along the way, Zamani also won the largest $10K event in PGT history. PokerStars cancels 2025 EPT Paris

PokerStars announced today that the 2025 EPT Paris is cancelled. The popular stop was slated for February 2025. According to a statement from PokerStars: "This decision comes as a result of unforeseen changes in French government policies and ongoing regulatory developments in Paris, which are entirely beyond our control." WSOP Paradise: Alejandro Lococo wins Triton Million Invitational for $12.07 million

Rapper Alejandro 'Papo MC' Lococo from Argentina shipped the largest single prize pool in 2024 with a staggering $12.07 million score in the Bahamas when he took down 2024 WSOP Paradise Event #2 $500,000 Triton Million Invitational. Lococo outlasted 96 runners and a difficult final table that included Ben Heath, Dan Dvoress, Alex Foxen, Sinan Unlu, Elias Talvitie, Aleksejs Ponakovs, and Sosia Jiang. Heath finished in second place yet still banked $8.16 million.

High Stakes Duel 5: Jared Bleznick sweeps Patrik Antonius

The fifth installment of High Stakes Duel is in the books, and Jared Bleznick won three straight matches against Patrik Antonius in Las Vegas to win $700,000 in heads-up battles featuring both NLH and PLO. Bleznick won Round 1 for $100,000, and won again in Round 2 for $200,000 stakes, and completed a sweep in Round 3 worth $400,000. PokerStars becomes official sponsor of NHL's Philly Flyers

NAPT Las Vegas: Nick Marchington wins Resorts World Main Event

The 2024 North American Poker Tour finished off their latest stop and series at Resorts World in Las Vegas. British pro Nick Marchington outlasted 895 runners and won the NAPT Las Vegas Main Event for $765,200. American pros Stephen Song and Sam Soverel took down high rollers. Song outlasted 60 players to win the $25K High Roller for $439,400. Soverel best a field of 170 runners and won the $10K High Roller for a score worth $385,750.

The Sahara Casino in Las Vegas will shut down its poker room on November 16. The valuable floor space will be renovated for a special new area for slot machines. The cost-cutting measure is another bottom line decision by executives who intend to maximize profits with slot degens instead of providing a safe space for poker-loving denizens and tourists.

Matthew Wantman wins PGT PLO Series II

American pro Matthew Wantman topped the leaderboard at the PGT PLO Series II hosted at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. He shipped Event #3 $5,100 PLO and cashed six times with four final table appearances. He banked $434,380 in winnings and finished with 453 leaderboard point. He edged out Jeremy Ausmus for the PGT PLO Series II Gold Cup, and held off Alex Foxen and Daniel Negreanu.
