Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi continues to make poker history after he hoisted the Chip Reese Trophy for a fourth time on Saturday evening in Las Vegas. The Grinder outlasted a field of 107 runners and edged out Bryn Kenney in a heads-up battle to win 2025 WSOP Event #66 $50,000 Poker Players Championship for a score worth $1,331,322. The victory marked the fourth time that The Grinder won the prestigious PPC, and it also secured him a seventh bracelet.

It's been an epic summer in Sin City and Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi is the latest player to make his mark at the 2025 WSOP. The Seven-Timers Club, an exclusive group of seven-time WSOP bracelet winners, was a little thin at the start of last year's WSOP but three different players notched their seventh bracelet to lay claim to the rare feat. This summer also featured several players reaching that tremendous milestone, and The Grinder is the latest pro to join the ranks of poker's most successful tournament players.
Since its inception in 2006, the Poker Player's Championship has been considered the best test of excellence at the WSOP. The skillful format was established to separate this pro-heavy event from the Main Event. It was a way to focus on the elite tournament players in the world from the masses, which is why the buy-in was $50,000 and the format was mixed-games instead of the tumultuous crapshoot of no-limit hold'em and a massive field where mostly everyone was dead money.
When Chip Reese passed away, it was more than fitting that trophy would be named after the first champion and well-regarded mixed-games specialist. Heading into this year's WSOP, two players had won the $50K PPC three times: The Grinder and Brian Rast.
The 2025 WSOP Event #66 $50,000 Poker Players Championship attracted 107 runners and a prize pool worth $5,162,750. The top 17 places paid out. Among the lucky souls who went deep and cashed included Christian Roberts, Marco Johnson, Erick Lindgren, Mike Matusow, Ali Eslami, Justin Liberto, Chris Vitch, Jon Kyte, and Matt Ashton. Ben Yu bubbled the final table in eighth place.
The $59K PPC final table had five bracelet winners and included Michael Mizrachi, Bryn Kenney, Esther Taylor, Andrew Yeh, Joao Vieria, Albert Daher, and Ben Lamb. Tayor busted in third place, which set up the heavyweight battle between Kenney and Mizrachi. Kenney, the all-time money winner in the galaxy, was seeking his third bracelet and first Chip Reese Trophy. When the dust settled, The Grinder was the last one standing. He banked $1,331,322 and won his fourth Chip Reese Trophy and slapped a seventh bracelet around his wrist. He also passed Rast for the all-time lead.
Rast won his first PPC in 2021, then added a second in 2016 and a third in 2023. In 2011, Rast denied Phil Hellmuth the title and Chip Reese Trophy.
The Grinder won the Chip Reese Trophy in 2010, 2012, 2018, and 2024. In 2010, Th Grinder survived a field of 116 runners to win $1.56 million. In 2012, he added his second $50K PPC title when he outgunned 108 runners and won $1.45 million. He waited six years to win a third Chip Reese title and regain the lead after Rast tied him in 2016. In 2018, The Grinder beat out 87 payers to win $1.24 million and denied Johnny 'World' Hennigan a second $50K PPC title.
The Seven-Timers Club currently has eight members including Billy Baxter, Johnny 'Word' Hennigan, Daniel Negreanu, Men Ngyuen, Scott Seiver, Nick Schulman, Rast, and The Grinder. The Grinder became the 15th player in history to win seven bracelets.
Last year, Negreanu outlasted 80 players to win the $50K PCC for his seventh bracelet. Seiver won three bracelets in 2024 to join the club. Johnny World, who won the $50K PPC in 2014, also joined the Seven-Timers Club last summer.
The Grinder is the fourth player this summer to cross the seventh bling threshold along with Benny Glaser, Schulman, and Rast. Glasser was in this elite club for a hot minute before he won his eight bracelet, and third overall this summer.
Only seven players have won more bracelets than The Grinder and everyone else in the Seven-Timers Club. Phil Hellmuth leads everyone with 17, followed by Phil Ivey (11), Johnny Chan (10), Erik Seidel (10), Doyle Brunson (10), Johnny Moss (9), and Glaser (8).
