Yeah, same old boring poker stuff, right? LSD and multiple lady friends! You can't ask for anything more in life? Charlie Carrel is living the life some of us can only dream of. Piles of money. Sick poker skills. Traveling the world. High balling, high rolling. Psychedelic wonderland. Space cats. And lots of foxy ladies.
The British pro Charlie Carrel started out from humble beginnings on the Jersey Islands. His family moved to London, where he sorta slipped floundered until he found his groove in poker. He deposited 10 quid onto an online poker site and the rest is history. It was the last of his money he said. If he had 20 quid left, he would have deposited that.
Carrel ran up his bankroll on the initial deposit. He was so dedicated to online poker, that he moved from London back to the Jersey Islands to live with his grandmum. He vowed he would stay there in exile and study the game until he won $100K. Well, he quickly hit his goal when he shipped the Sunday Million for over $200K. Since then, it's been a whirlwind tour. He's become a regular on the Super High Roller circuit and quickly amassed $5.5M in winnings.
Carrel's biggest live cash was seven figures for $1.2 million when he won the EPT 11 25K High Roller in Monte Carlo. Earlier this year down in the Bahamas, Carrel was the runner-up at the $100K Super High Roller event at the PokerStars Championship Bahamas. That was a sweet $1.1M score. Yeah, mon!
Carrel recently appeared on the True Gordie Podcast. Among the random topics discussed... LSD, mushrooms, DMT, which drugs are good/bad while playing poker, slinging Pokemon cards and molly on the side, the difference between passion/addiction, the polyamorous lifestyle.
