One session after he lost over $300K and found himself down a cool million in the High Stakes Feud against Doug Polk, Daniel Negreanu stormed back to win $390K in a single session for the highest score to date during their 25,000-hand heads-up challenge at $200/$400 NL. Polk dropped nearly 10 buy-ins during his worst-session. After 31 rounds, Polk still leads by $612K with 6,000 hands remaining.

And just like that, Kid Poker is back in the game. To quote Joey Ingram, "Wild f-cking game!" Heading into last Friday's round of the High-Stakes Feud between Negreanu and Polk, a lot of people thought KidPoker was on the verge of dunzo. He had won multiple sessions in a row to start the year and chipped away at Doug Polk's lead to get under a half-million deficit. However, Polk rallied and won over $299K in Round 30 to put himself over $1 million in winnings. Negreanu appeared on mega-tilt via social media, but that negative head space didn't last very long. Negreanu cleared his mind, stopped the bleeding and went on the attack of his own using some old-school methods.
"Last session we saw the biggest pot of the challenge along with a lot of other massive pots," tweeted Negreanu before Round 31. "I think we may be seeing a lot more of that going forward."
During their session on Friday, the two played for over 1,000 hands during Round 31 of their epic battle at two-tabling heads-up $200/$400 NL. KidPoker jumped out to a lead and never looked back. Polk kept dusting off stacks and Negreanu secured his largest single-session score to date worth $390,032. That wiped out Polk's gains from Round 30 and then some.
When the dust settled on Friday, Negreanu regained nearly 40% of his losses. After Round 31, he trailed only $612.5K with 6,076 hands remaining.
"We had the biggest single loss of either play of the entire challenge today," tweeted Polk. "Really, really tough spots throughout. Lots of really shitty situations where we had reasonable bluff catching candidates."
"You got two choices," commented Kid Poker. "Lay down like a pussy, almost you lost, match is f-cking over. Or, you can go balls to the wall and play like a complete jackass. Which is exactly how I felt I played today."
"I said it a bunch of times... people lose ten buy-ins in a session," said Polk. "It has not happened this whole challenge, so it started to not feel as likely. But man... it can totally happen in heads-up."
- Total Hands: 18,924
- Current Leader: Polk +$612,563
- Round 31 Hands: 1,046
- Round 31 Results: Negreanu +$390,032
After the loss, Polk knew he had to do his homework. "Back in the lab," he tweeted.
The two will fight again this week for multiple sessions. Considering the big swings in Round 30 and Round 31, the next couple could be massive. Don't miss out.
"We throw GTO out the window and go old school looking to turn this thing around," said Negreanu before tweeting this recap video titled 'How to WIN $390,000 in 4 Hours"....
