To help celebrate 20 years of the World Poker Tour, the WPT added superstar DJ and EDM godfather Steve Aoki as the newest brand ambassador. Aoki, who is also a music producer, has been a poker fan and avid player for many years. He often played poker and online poker backstage and on the tour bus while performing all over the world. Aoki most recently played at the 2021 World Poker Tour Heads-Up Poker Championship, and he'll be a fixture on Season XX of the WPT.

Get ready for the UNTZ! UNTZ! UNTZ! The poker world and the EDM community reached a pivotal crossroads thanks to the newest brand ambassador and pitchperson for the World Poker Tour. The poker biz has always relied on non-pros to help market their products to the public and reach new audiences, but in this instance, the World Poker Tour landed one of the most famous DJs in the entire universe.
Steve Aoki is a two-time Grammy winner, but he's played all over the planet at sold out concerts and festivals. He also delved into other side hustles and business including fashion design, NFTs, and philanthropy. He's also a poker fan who also fell in love with the game while watching episodes of the WPT going back to its earliest seasons on the Travel Channel. Aoki is friends will several notable players in the poker community, especially Samantha Abernathy.
Aoki is like Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, and Doyle Brunson all rolled into on as far as he's known in the music realm, especially in the tight knit, global EDM community. This is a huge score for the World Poker Tour, because music is universal and Aoki's beats reached billions of people on the planet, plus a few untz-loving aliens as well.
"It's such an honor to be joining the WPT family," said Aoki in an official statement. "I have watched and admired the WPT for many, many years and to now be part of the WPT family. It feels so surreal and I am incredibly grateful."
The World Poker Tour heads into its 20th year of existence and the folks at the WPT will be celebrating two decades of prominence during its upcoming season. Aoki will help the WPT celebrate their 20th birthday, while assisting with a "new look and feel" for Season XX and going forward.
You will find Aoki at different World Poker Tour special events in 2022, including an upcoming charity tournament in Las Vegas. The WPT will be a part of the Aoki Foundation, the unique charity created by Aoki to champion brain science and research.
"The passion and energy in which Steve Aoki approaches every aspect of his life is both inspiring and very much in line with the new vision of the WPT," said Adam Pliska, World Poker Tour CEO. "Steve's love of poker and his dedication to inspiring others to live life to the fullest makes him the ideal WPT brand ambassador. We are honored to have him play an active role in our transformation and in the celebration of World Poker Tour's 20th anniversary."
Stay tuned for more details about Season 20 or Season XX of the WPT. The new season kicks off with the Lucky Hearts Poker Open at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida later this month.
