This year's EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo will feature seven straight days of live streaming coverage. But wait, there's more! This year's coverage will include cards-up coverage with hole cards (on a delay, obviously). When I first got introduced to the European Poker Tour, you had to wait months to see the TV episode of the final table…and that's if you had a channel that broadcast the EPT! I lived in Las Vegas at the time, and the EPT was not available anywhere in America. Episodes of the EPT were available in Canada, but not in the United States. I had to wait until a random Scandi or Russian posted a bootlegged copy to YouTube or Poker Tube. A lot has changed in a decade! Now, anyone with an internet connection can sweat the action (in almost real time, too!) with the technological advances in live-streaming capabilities. We've definitely come a long way in poker tournament coverage and even longer way in real-time video innovations.
The EPT Live is hosted by James Hatrigan and Stapes, along with a few special guests sitting in along the way. The coverage kicks on April 30 at 2pm local time in Europe (8am ET or a very early 5am Vegas time). All of the final tables are scheduled for 2pm Monte Carlo time, but the EPT Grand Final Main Event coverage begins at 12:30pm Monte Carlo time (6:30am ET or 3:30am Vegas time).
