Aliaksandr Shylko from Belarus shipped the second-ever PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) for a $3.1 million score after he worked out a three-way money chop with Germany's Max Menzel and Philipe Pizzari from Brazil. Nacho Barbero went deep in the 2023 PSPC with a fourth-place finish at Baha Mar in the Bahamas. Shylko outlasted 1,014 runners who generated a prize pool worth over $24.8 million

The World Series of Poker returns for its 54th installment and its second year on the Las Vegas Strip at Paris and the newly branded Horseshoe Casino. The 2023 WSOP features 95 live bracelet events, and 34 online bracelet events with 20 up for grabs on the virtual felt in Nevada/New Jersey, seven in Michigan, and seven in Pennsylvania.

Portugal's Michel Dattani and Pedro Neves chopped the 2023 PCA $10,300 Main Event during the epic return of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas. Neves banked $1,183,037 for second place, and Dattani won $1,316,963 and the coveted trophy for first place after the two Portuguese players outlasted a field of 889 entrants.

After a seven-year layoff, PokerStars will relaunch the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT). The LAPT returns to Brazil with a stop in Rio de Janeiro on March 2, 2023. There will be an event in Montevideo, Uruguay in April, plus two more events planned in Sao Paolo, Brazil in July and November. And there's other LAPT dates and locations that will be announced soon.

Eliot Hudon from Montreal, Quebec, Canada outlasted a record-setting field of 2,960 runners to win the 2022 World Poker Tour Championship at the Wynn Las Vegas for a score worth $4.1 million. Hudon outlasted a final table that included Benny Glaser, J.C. Moussa, Adam Adler, Frank Funaro, and Colton Blomberg.

The World Series of Poker returns to the Paris Casino and newly branded Horseshoe Casino on the Las Vegas Strip next summer. The 2023 WSOP kicks off May 30 and runs through July 18 with the 54th version of the iconic tournament series. The 2023 WSOP $10,000 buy-in Main Event begins July 3.

High Stakes Duel III at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas continued with HSD3 heads-up champion Phil Hellmuth taking on challenger Jason Koon in Round 5. Koon defeated Hellmuth and banked $1.6 million. Hellmuth has the option for a rematch in Round 6, but the stakes are doubled to $3.2 million.

PokerStars announced their 2023 live tournament events schedule for the European Poker Tour which includes five stops including two first-time destinations. The EPT kicks off in February 2023 with their EPT Paris debut. In the fall, the EPT heads to the EPT Cyprus for the first time. There's also usual stops at the EPT Monte-Carlo, EPT Barcelona, and the EPT Prague.

The 2022 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event at the King's Casino in Rozvadov has come to an end with Sweden's Omar Eljach edging out France's Jonathan Pastore to win the bracelet and €1.38 million in cash. The €10,350 buy-in affair attracted 763 runners. The final table also included Shaun Deeb, Barny Boatman, Alexandre Read, and Tim Adams.

The World Poker Tour crowned a new champion when Chad Eveslage took down the 2022 WPT Five Diamond Classic at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Eveslage banked $1,042,300 for the victory and claimed his second WPT title. The final table also included and Steve Buckner, Michael Gathy, Brian Kim, Albert Calderon, and David Kim.

After whiffing in numerous high rollers, Daniel Negreanu outlasted 23 runners to win the $300,000 buy-in 2022 Super High Roller Bowl VII in Las Vegas. Negreanu banked $3.3 million for the victory, which marked the second-highest payout of his illustrious career. Negreanu edged out a final four at the SHRB VII that included Nick Petrangelo, Justin Bonomo, and Andrew Lichtenberger.

Thai pro Punnat Punsri banked over $2.6 million with a huge score at the 2022 Triton Mediterranean Poker Party Main Event at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel in Cyprus. The Triton Mediterranean Poker Party Main Event attracted 99 runners to the $100,000 buy-in high roller event. Punsri defeated Wayne Heung heads-up for the title. The World Poker Tour crowned two new champions this week and both were first-time winners. Corey Wade took down the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Main Event for a $471,686 score. Joshua Pollock won the $5,250 buy-in WPT Legends at the Bicycle Casino on the outskirts of Los Angeles for a $573,350 score.

The 2022 WSOP Main Event went so late into the night on Wednesday that they decided to postpone action with ten players remaining early on Thursday morning. The final ten in the 2022 WSOP Main Event will return on Friday and play down to four, and then on Saturday they will play from the final four to a champion and find out who wins $10 million. Espen Jorstad and Matt Su are the co-chipleaders with 83.2M. Also still alive are Asher Conniff, Aaron Duczak, Jeff Farnes, John Eames, Mike Duek, Matija Dobric, Philippe Souki, and Adrian Attenborough.

The 2022 World Series of Poker Main Event finished off Day 5 and only 123 players remain in the hunt for the $10 million first-place prize. James Hobbs bagged the chip lead with 12.5M and Efthymia Litsou is second with 11.7M. Aaron Mermelstein and Alejandro Lococo both have at least 10M and round out the Top 5. Defending champion Koray Aldemir is still alive with 3.8M, meanwhile Damian Salas has a small stack with 2.4M.

The numbers are in for the 2022 World Series of Poker Main Event aka Event #70 $10,000 NL Championship and this year's marquee tournament attracted 8,663 runners and a prize pool over $80 million. First place will earn $10 million with the top eight players earning at least seven-figure payouts. The top 1,300 finishers will get a cut of the pie. Only 2,993 players remain at the start of Day 3.

Dan "Jungleman" Cates joined an elite list of pros who shipped the WSOP $50K Poker Players Championship more than once, but Cates made history with back-to-back bracelet victories. Cates outlasted 112 runners to win 2022 WSOP Event #56 $50,000 Poker Players Championship for $1,449,103. The final table included Koray Aldemir, Naoya Kihara, Yuri Dzivielevski, Johannes Becker, and Benny Glaser.

The 2022 Poker Hall of Fame announced the ballot for induction this year, which included seven finalists from last year plus three new names. Kathy Liebert, Josh Arieh, and Brian Rast are the three additions to the ballot along with the late Layne Flack, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Isai Scheinberg, Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, Mike Matusow, Matt Savage, Lon McEachern & Norman Chad. The induction ceremony is slated for July 10.

The $3,800 buy-in WPT Choctaw Main Event attracted 787 entrants, and the top 100 places earned a cut of the $2.75 million prize pool.
