In the latest move to acquire top-notch talent, partypoker invited Jason Koon to join forces with them. Koon, a high-stakes American pro who has over 8-figures in career tournament cashes, will be the newest member of partypoker's new advisory panel. Koon will join the ranks of Fedor Holz, Mike Sexton, Sam Trickett, and Johnny Lodden.
Jerry West and Jason Koon are the two most successful figures to hail from West Virginia. West went on to a hall of fame career in the NBA, Meanwhile, Jason Koon became one of the premier American pros in the world. In the last few years, he amassed over $10 million in career tournament winnings including a $1.6 million score earlier this year in the Bahamas. After a sensational run at the Aria this summer playing high-holler events, Koon got swooped up by partypoker.
The suits at partypoker shifted their focus to high-stakes pros in an attempt to make their site more high-volume-player-friendly. They created a new player advisory council in attempt to better bridge the gap between the corporate mindset and the players in the trenches. Fedor Holz, who was in the early stages of his semi-retirement from poker, joined partypoker recently to assist with the players' panel.
According to a press release, "partypoker's player panel will facilitate detailed feedback sessions with the wider poker community and ensure players' opinions are heard within the company. The initiative is part of partypoker's strong commitment to stay close to the poker-playing community and make decisions which will be welcomed by players and have their best interests at heart."
Koon, a 32-year old pro from West Virginia, has a masters degree in business, which is another valuable asset for partypoker. According to the press release, "With an MBA in finance, Koon was one of the first tournament players to adopt game theory into his play and credits his subsequent success to his disciplined approach. As well as representing partypoker at live events, Jason will also be playing online under the alias Jason_Koon."
