The PokerStars Championship stop in Panama is officially over. Two Americans won the final two events. Kenny Smaron shipped the Panama Main Event for a $294K score. Meanwhile, Steve O'Dwyer won another high roller event. It's like deja vu all over again! O'Dwyer chopped with Sam Greewood and took down $240K.

Americans win big in Panama! American online exile Kenny Smaron binked the Main Event and Steve O'Dwyer won the shark-infested high roller.
Panama has been kind to Americans the last ten days. And I'm not talking about the cheesy Van Halen hit crooned by David Lee Roth at the peak of the Butt Rock domination with his big hair stiffened by three cans of hairspray and his junk snuggly fit into spandex. Nope, Panama played host to the latest stop on the PokerStars Championship schedule.
An American living in exile in Costa Rica shipped the PSC-Panama Main Event. Kenny Smaron moved to Costa Rica in the wake of Black Friday in April 2011, when Uncle Sam pulled the plug on online poker in America. Smaron made a quick trip down to Panama to play in the $5,300 buy-in Main Event.
Smaron faded a field of 366 runners to win $294K and edged out Canada's Harpeet Gill, who finished in second place for a $218K score. Russia's Denis Timofeev went into the final table as the chip leader, but fell short of the winner's circle with a third-place finish. Jonathan Abdellatif from Belgium busted in fourth place.

How about a "Man Bites Dog" headline with Steve O'Dwyer? O'Dwyer won another high roller event on the international baller tour. Another O'Dwyer win seems like repeat news, right? Like lazy poker scribes recycling old news stories just to make a quick buck a fill their quota for the week. Alas, this is not fake poker news, but a legit piece of journalism. Doctormindbender struck again!
Steve O'Dwyer faded a field of 110 entries (with 26 re-entries). The prize pool topped $1M for this high rolling affair. The final table included several notables including Team PokerStars Pro Felipe Ramos, Sam Chartier, Damian Salas, Tony Zinno, Chris Hunichen, Francois Billard, and Sam Greenwood.
O'Dwyer got heads-up with Sam Greenwood and the final two chopped up the remaining loot. Greenwood locked up $223K and O'Dwyer won $240K...and the trophy.
