Get ready Michigan for a tournament throwdown on PokerStars. The citizens and poker denizens of Michigan, everywhere from the Big D to Harbor Springs, will get the true COOP experience when the first-ever and inaugural Michigan Championship of Online Poker arrives in late February. For over two weeks, MICOOP will go down on PokerStars Michigan where players will get multiple daily tournaments and 60 total events to celebrate the return of online poker.
2021 MICOOP begins at PokerStars Michigan on February 20 and ends on March 8 with 60 events. That high-water mark shall break the record for domestic American COOP events on PokerStars. PokerStars Pennsylvania had only 50 events for PACOOP, while New Jersey PokerStars got 54 events for NJCOOP. The bar has been raised with MICOOP.
The lowest tier in MICOOP is $10 and $20, but there's a High Roller high balla affair for $500. There will be $1 million in guaranteed prize pools over 60 MICOOP events.
The MICOOP Main Event will begin on Sunday March 7, which has a $300 price tag and a guaranteed prize pool worth $175K. There's also a MICOOP Mini Main Event with a $50 buy-in and a $35K guaranteed prize pool for the mini-me edition.
"Coming off the launch of our real-money gaming brands in Michigan, it is clear that players want the world class offerings that only PokerStars can bring," said FOX Bet CEO Kip Levin. "We are excited for Michiganders to join our most popular series and crown our first big winner who will join in the prestigious footsteps of other Championship of Online Poker (COOP) champions."
MICOOP Satellites are running live on PokerStars Michigan as we speak for as low as $2. So, what the heck are you waiting for? Time to dust off our old online poker chops and get back into training so you can be ready for the first-ever Michigan Championship of Online Poker.
Mark your calendars and set your reminders… MICOOP Event #1 starts on Saturday night February 20 with the $100 buy-in MICOOP Kick Off, which also dubs as the Nightly Stars SE.
