Get ready for the triumphant return of the biggest and most prestigious online tournament series in the world. The 2024 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) starting this Sunday, September 8 exclusively on PokerStars. This annual festival of poker will run the remainder of the month and end on October 2. This year's WCOOP has a total of 379 tournaments spread across three tiers of buy-ins with guaranteed prize pools over $80 million. The Main Event World Championship in both NLHE and PLO is slated for September 29.

The Venetian Casino in Las Vegas recently opened their renovated poker room. With 50 tables, the Venetian is now home to the largest poker room in Las Vegas. The new space opened in early August and is now located in between the Venetian and Palazzo on the second floor of the Grand Canal Shops.

The latest poker movie is slated for release next month. "Dead Money" is directed by Luc Walpoth and stars Emile Hirsch and India Eisley. Hirsch portrays a professional poker in the middle of a downswing who gets caught up with a criminal element after a poker game gets robbed. "Dead Money" is slated for release on September 13 in theaters and via video on demand (VOD).

Caesars Entertainment will sell the intellectual property rights for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) brand to NSUS Group Inc. (owner of GGPoker) for $500 million. The WSOP will still remain in Las Vegas for the next 20 years and Caesars will still be able to use the WSOP branding for their brick-and-mortar rooms and WSOP Online.

Save the date! The 2024 WSOP Paradise will take place over two weeks on Paradise Island in the Bahamas starting December 6 and running through December 19. This second installment of the WSOP Paradise will be hosted at the newly renovated Atlantis Resort, and the $25,000 Super Main Event will have a $50 million guarantee.

Say hello to the newest champion. American Jonathan Tamayo outlasted 10,112 runners and navigated a tough final table to win the 2024 WSOP Main Event. Tamayo snagged his first bracelet and $10 million in cash. American Jordan Griff was the runner up and he banked $6 million for second place. Swedish pro Niklas Astedt was knocked out in third place, which paid out $4 million.

The 2024 WSOP Main Event final table began on Tuesday and only three players remain. Swedish pro Niklas 'Lena900' Astedt is the current chipleader with 223M followed by Americans Jonathan Tamayo (197M) and Jordan Griff (187M). On Wednesday, a new champion will be crowned in Las Vegas and the history will be made by one of the final three when the last player standing ships $10 million.

After eight tumultuous and exhilarating days of action, the 2024 WSOP Main Event has reached its final table. With nine to go, American Jordan Griff bagged the lead with 143.7M at the end of Day 8. The final table also includes American pro Brian Kim (94.6M), Swedish online shark Niklas 'Lena900' Astedt (94.2), Joe Serock (83.6M), Jason Sagle (67.3M), Boris Angelov (52.9M), Jonathan Tamayo (26.7M), Malo Latinois (25.5M), and Andres Gonzalez (18.3M). Action resumes on Tuesday in Las Vegas and a new champ will be crowned on Wednesday.

The 2024 WSOP Main Event continued with an exhilarating Day 7 that saw the field cut down from 59 to 18. France's Malo Latinois bagged the chip lead with 61.3M, but there are some big names still alive including Sweden's Niklas Astedt (50M), and Canadian pro Kristen Foxen (47.4M) who is also the last woman remaining at the final two tables. Six-time bracelet winner Brian Rast saw his epic Main Event run end in 24^th place.

After five days of action, the 2024 WSOP Main Event had only 160 players remaining. On Day 6, over a hundred players were knocked out and only 59 players survived. American Kevin Davis bagged the chip lead with 26.25M. The Top 5 also includes Shundan Xiao (23.9M), Malo Latinois (22.37M), Guillermo Sanchez Otero (31.97M), and Yake Wu (20.87M). Niklas Astedt, Kristen Foxen, Brian Rast, and Brandon Cantu are among the notables still remaining.

The 2024 WSOP Main Event continued with 464 players returning for Day 5, but only 160 players were still alive by the end of the evening. Once again, American Stephen Song bagged up the chipl ead. Song (12.3M) is a smidge above Carlos Caldas (12.1M) from Brooklyn via Portugal in second overall. Yeah, three Portuguese players are in the Top 5 including Diogo Coelho (9.95M) in third and Manuel Machado (8.83M) in fifth overall. American Yegor Moroz is fourth with 9.47M. Among the notables still alive are Swedish pro Niklas 'Lena900' Astedt, Brian Rast, Tony Dunst, Danielle Andersen, Alex Keating, and Brandon Cantu.

The money bubble popped early on Day 4 of the 2024 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas. By the end of the evening, 464 players survived and will return for Day 5 on Thursday. American Stephen Song bagged the chip lead with 4.75M and Spanish pro Adrian Mateos is right behind him with 4.5M. Also in the Top 5 in chips are Will Berry (4.46M), Aloisio Dourado (4.3M), and Biao Ding (4.26M). Other notables still alive include Phil Ivey, Matt Stout, Brian Rast, Brandon Cantu, Nacho Barbero, Antoine Saout, Tony Dunst, Ami Barer, Kristen Foxen, and Noah Boeken.

The 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas is the largest in history with 10,112 runners. This year's massive field eclipsed last year's number by 69 entries. The total prize pool will be over $94 million with $10 million set aside for the champion. The money bubble will burst early on Day 4 and the top 1,517 runners will earn a cut of the prize pool. Spain's Francisco Perez Moreno is the chip leader with a stack of 2.18M with 1,524 players remaining.

Scott Seiver navigated a tough final table and a stacked final day to win 2024 WSOP Event #72 $10,000 NL 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship (7-Handed) for $411,041. The victory marked his third bracelet win this summer, and he moved into the exclusive Seven Timer's Club with bracelet #7. Meanwhile, France's Elie Nakache took down Event #66 $10,000 PLO Championship for a $1.3 million score when he outlasted 726 runners.

Daniel Negreanu won the 2024 WSOP $50,000 Poker Players Championship for $1.17 million and he also picked up bracelet #7. Kid Poker had been chasing a bracelet for over a decade and had multiple close calls before he finally won a seventh bracelet. Negreanu outlasted a tough final five that included Chris Brewer, Dylan Smith, Bryce Yockey, and David Benyamine.

Another busy weekend in Las Vegas at the 2024 WSOP. Brazilian pro Yuri Dzivielevski won his fifth bracelet and third bling in the last two years with a victory in Event #53 $3,000 Nine Game Mix (7-Handed) for a $215,982 score. Santhosh Suvarna from India was the last player standing in Event #55 $250,000 Super High Roller NLHE when he outlasted 75 runners to win $5.4 million and his second bracelet.

Chris 'BigHuni' Hunichen outlasted a fierce field of 112 entries to win his first bracelet with an impressive victory in 2024 WSOP Event #47 $100,000 High Roller NLHE. Hunichen banked nearly $2.84 million for the win and denied Jeremy Ausmus a chance at winning a seventh bracelet. The stacked final table also included Viktor Blom, Chance Kornuth, Justin Saliba, and Ike Haxton.

It was a busy weekend at the 2024 WSOP. Scott Seiver became the first player to win multiple bracelets at the 2024 WSOP when he took down Event #40 $1,500 Razz, which also marked his sixth bracelet. Sergio Aido outlasted 177 runners to win his first bracelet with a victory in Event #39 $50,000 High Roller NLHE, which paid out a little more than $2 million. Meanwhile, Phillip Hui banked $193,545 and his fourth bracelet with a win in Event #35 $1,500 HORSE.

All eyes were on Phil Ivey at the final table of 2024 WSOP Event #29 $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Championship. First place paid out $347,440, but Ivey was gunning for bracelet #11 and his first WSOP victory in ten years. It came down to a heads-up joust between Danny Wong and Ivey. When the dust settled, Ivey locked up an eleventh bracelet and moved into second place on the all-time list behind Phil Hellmuth's 17 victories.

The 2024 WSOP continued and on Sunday night, Sean Troha won his third bracelet with a victory in Event #24 $10,000 PLO 8 Championship. He has now won a bracelet in three straight summers and took down a second PLO8 Championship since 2022. A pair of pros secured their second-career bracelets at the end of last week. Dylan Weisman binked Event #18 $1,500 PLO for a $294K payday, and John Racener rallied from behind to win Event #19 $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship for a $308K score.

The second week of the 2024 WSOP saw two pros secure their fifth bracelet when Scott Siever and Robert Mizrachi joined the Five Timers Club. Seiver banked $426,744 for winning Event #10 $10,000 Omaha 8 Championship, and Mizrachi took down Event #13 $10,000 Dealer's Choice Championship for $333,045. Also, David Prociak and Simeon Spasov won their second bracelets. Meanwhile, first-time winners included Nick Guagenti and France's Thibault Perissat.
