The crux: America or Canada? 2016 WSOP Main Event Runner-Up Gordon Vayo provided proof he was in Montreal, Canada during the duration of his SCOOP victory last year. News Pascal Lefrancois wins partypoker LIVE Millions Barcelona for €1.7 million It wasn't an ordinary Sunday in Barcelona with millions in Euros on the line for eight hopefuls. The 2018 partypoker LIVE Millions Barcelona Main Event was awarding at least three payouts worth seven-figures. The 10,300 buy-in affair attracted 1,175 players. The total prize pool nearly passed €11.4 million. Canadian pro Pascal Lefrancois defeated Adam Owen heads-up to win the title and €1.7 million. Owen banked €1.3 million as the consolation prize.

News Jake Schindler, Davidi Kitai, and Sam Greenwood win high rollers in Barcelona Barcelona has been the hotspot of poker for the last week or so. partypoker LIVE hosted three high roller events at their MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona. Over the weekend, Belgian pro Davidi Kitai shipped the €25K High Roller for €700,000. Canada's Sam Greenwood won the €50K for a cool million. And yesterday, American pro Jake Schindler sniffed out Stevie Chidwick's bluff to win the €100K Super High Roller for a score worth €1,750,000. Schindler is now closing in on $18 million in career tournament earnings.

Breaking News Paul ‘X-22' Magriel passed away Paul 'X-22' Magriel, former chess prodigy and legendary backgammon player, passed away in his sleep at the age of 71. Erik Seidel confirmed Magriel's passing on Twitter today. Magriel got his 15 minutes of modern fame on an early episode of the World Poker Tour with his infamous verbal tick "Quack quack!" Magriel had also become a nemesis of Phil Hellmuth over the years especially after Magriel busted Hellmuth at the 2005 WSOP.

News 2018 PCA: Adrian Mateos final table chip leader; Watch live Spanish pro Adrian Mateos and recent addition to Team Winamax started Day 5 of the PCA Main Event as the short stack with 16 players remaining. Mateos conjured up his short-stack-ninja skills and managed to advance to the unofficial final table. Late on Day 5, Mateos snagged the chip lead and he heads into the final table with the big stack. Breaking News 2018 WSOP schedule leaked? Yesterday, there may or may not have been a leaked schedule for the 2018 World Series of Poker. Was it a sloppy intern? Or rogue hackers? A couple of forum members on our parent site Club Poker snapped a couple of screencaps before the 77-event schedule was taken down. No one knows for sure if it is the 2018 final schedule, or a preliminary schedule. We can only confirm the date of the return of the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop, which will occur on July 15, 2018.

Breaking News Art Papazyan wins another WPT event! Art Papazyan won another World Poker Tour event. It's been an epic Season XVI for Papazyan. Just last month, Papazyan took down the WPT Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. And last night, Art Papazyan won the WPT Maryland Live! for a $389,405 score. Inside of five weeks, Papazyan banked a cool $1 million. Also of note, Papazyan became the eighth player in WPT history to win multiple titles in a single season.

Breaking News WSOP Circuit SHR: Anton Wigg wins High Roller and Joe Gotlieb wins Main Event In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, the World Series of Poker Circuit event chugged along at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Swedish pro Anton Wigg won the WSOP Circuit High Roller Event during his first-ever trip to Florida. Wigg earned $111,719 plus the coveted ring. In the $1,675 buy-in SHR Main Event, Joe Gotlieb faded a field of 904 runners to win $257,638 plus a WSOP Circuit ring.

Breaking News Legal poker battle in Portland, Oregon The city of Portland is battling with the state of Oregon over the legality of its poker rooms. The city allowed “cover charges” for poker rooms who skirted around the no-rake laws. The Oregon Lottery, which handles all gaming in the state of Oregon, stated that the largest room in Portland, the Portland Meadows, has until end of October to cease operations, or figure out a legal alternative. Otherwise, poker rooms in Portland are only a month away from closing its doors.

Breaking News Massacre in Las Vegas; 58 dead and 500 wounded after tragic shooting at outdoor music festival On Sunday evening, a shooter inside the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino and Hotel opened fired on a musical festival below along Las Vegas Blvd. Over 500+ people were injured and at least 58 people were confirmed killed at the Route 91 Harvest music festival across the street from Mandalay Bay. The shooting occurred shortly after 10pm local time at the end of the set by Jason Aldean. Authorities identified the shooter as Stephen Craig Paddock, a retired 64-year old from Mesquite, Nevada. Las Vegas Police officials said that Paddock died inside his hotel room with apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. This devastating incident is the worst mass-shooting in U.S. history. Investigators are still seeking a motive for the massacre.

Breaking News Scott Blumstein wins 2017 WSOP Main Event Say hello to the newest champion! Scott Blumstein from New Jersey won the 2017 WSOP Main Event Championship. The New Jersey pro won $8,150,000 for fading a field of 7,221 runners. On the third and final day of the final table, Blumstein came in with an overwhelming lead. French pro Ben Pollak busted in third place, which set up a heads-up bout between Blumstein and Dan Ott. Blumstein held a sizable advantage over Ott, who could not rally from behind and pull off the upset. Ott settled on a runner-up finish and $4.7 million in cash for a consolation prize. Blumstein only needed 65 hands to send Ott to the rail. Blumstein now added his name to an illustrious list of Main Event Champions.

Breaking News 2017 WSOP: Robin Hegele leads final 85 in Main Event Saturday at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas saw the 2017 WSOP Main Event field slim down from 297 to 85 runners. Two of them -- Kenny Hallaert and Mike Ruane -- are attempting to make back-to-back final tables. They were both November Niners last year. Can they both pull a Newhizzle? Germany's Robin Hegele leads all remaining players with a big stack worth nearly 10M.

Breaking News 2017 WSOP: Christian Pham leads final 27 after Day 6 Only 27 players remaining in the 2017 WSOP Main Event. At the start of Day 6, 85 players were still left in the hunt for the championship. By the end of the day, only 27 players remained and bracelet-winner Christian Pham bagged up the most chips. Kenny Hallaert and Mike Ruane were attempting to make back-to-back final tables in the Main Event. Kenny Hallaert's quest ended when he exited in 64th place. But Mike Ruane is still alive. Oh, and in the final bracelet event on the docket, Adrian Moreno from Southern California, won Event #74 Little One for One Drop for $528K score.

Breaking News Goodbye November Nine! WSOP Main Event to crown champion on July 22 RIP November Nine. The WSOP Main Event final table will no longer postponed until the first week in November. Poker Central and ESPN agreed upon a new deal that would televise the final table in July! There will only be a 2-day break before the WSOP final table resumes at the Rio in Las Vegas on July 20. The final table will last three days and the Main Event champion will be crowned on July 22. ESPN will stream the final table on a 30-minute delay.
