Erik Seidel confirmed Magriel's passing on Twitter today. Magriel got his 15 minutes of modern fame on an early episode of the World Poker Tour with his infamous verbal tick "Quack quack!" Magriel had also become a nemesis of Phil Hellmuth over the years especially after Magriel busted Hellmuth at the 2005 WSOP.

Breaking News 2018 WSOP schedule leaked? Yesterday, there may or may not have been a leaked schedule for the 2018 World Series of Poker. Was it a sloppy intern? Or rogue hackers? A couple of forum members on our parent site Club Poker snapped a couple of screencaps before the 77-event schedule was taken down. No one knows for sure if it is the 2018 final schedule, or a preliminary schedule. We can only confirm the date of the return of the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop, which will occur on July 15, 2018.

The city allowed “cover charges” for poker rooms who skirted around the no-rake laws. Breaking News Massacre in Las Vegas; 58 dead and 500 wounded after tragic shooting at outdoor music festival On Sunday evening, a shooter inside the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino and Hotel opened fired on a musical festival below along Las Vegas Blvd. Over 500+ people were injured and at least 58 people were confirmed killed at the Route 91 Harvest music festival across the street from Mandalay Bay. The shooting occurred shortly after 10pm local time at the end of the set by Jason Aldean. Authorities identified the shooter as Stephen Craig Paddock, a retired 64-year old from Mesquite, Nevada. Las Vegas Police officials said that Paddock died inside his hotel room with apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. This devastating incident is the worst mass-shooting in U.S. history. Investigators are still seeking a motive for the massacre.

Breaking News Scott Blumstein wins 2017 WSOP Main Event Say hello to the newest champion! Scott Blumstein from New Jersey won the 2017 WSOP Main Event Championship. The New Jersey pro won $8,150,000 for fading a field of 7,221 runners. On the third and final day of the final table, Blumstein came in with an overwhelming lead. French pro Ben Pollak busted in third place, which set up a heads-up bout between Blumstein and Dan Ott. Blumstein held a sizable advantage over Ott, who could not rally from behind and pull off the upset. Ott settled on a runner-up finish and $4.7 million in cash for a consolation prize. Blumstein only needed 65 hands to send Ott to the rail. Blumstein now added his name to an illustrious list of Main Event Champions.

Breaking News 2017 WSOP: Christian Pham leads final 27 after Day 6 Only 27 players remaining in the 2017 WSOP Main Event. At the start of Day 6, 85 players were still left in the hunt for the championship. By the end of the day, only 27 players remained and bracelet-winner Christian Pham bagged up the most chips. Kenny Hallaert and Mike Ruane were attempting to make back-to-back final tables in the Main Event. Kenny Hallaert's quest ended when he exited in 64th place. But Mike Ruane is still alive. Oh, and in the final bracelet event on the docket, Adrian Moreno from Southern California, won Event #74 Little One for One Drop for $528K score.

Poker Central and ESPN agreed upon a new deal that would televise the final table in July! There will only be a 2-day break before the WSOP final table resumes at the Rio in Las Vegas on July 20. The final table will last three days and the Main Event champion will be crowned on July 22. ESPN will stream the final table on a 30-minute delay.
