WSOP: Main Event down to 3,992 players after Day 2A/2B

The 2016 WSOP Main Event field has been trimmed to 3,992 players after the completion of Day 2A/2B. A total of 1,847 returned to the Rio Casino for the first batch of Day 2s. When the dust settled, more than half of the field was decimated. Valentin Vornicu bagged up the biggest stack at the end of the day with 838K. France's Gaelle Baumann chipped up to over 500K, which put her in the top 10 overall. Plenty of big names survived the cut on Day 2A/2B and advanced to Day 3 including Maria Ho, Elky, Jen Shahade, Benny Glasser, Antonio Esfandiari, Anthony Znno, Michael Gathy, Matt Matros, Vanessa Selbst, Johnny Chan, and Atoine Saout. $8 million is up for grabs for first place.
