A first-place prize worth $1 million is up for grabs on PokerStars. The Sunday Million turns 11-years old! Russia has no love for Tony G. Vladimir Putin doesn't like tricycles and he certainly loathes Tony G's shtick. Antanas Guoga, better known in poker circles as Tony G, got himself blacklisted from Russia. Tony G wanted to play a tournament at the recent partypoker Million event in Sochi, Russia, but he could not enter the country. Tony G is persona non grata in Mother Russia. Tony G, currently a member of the EU Parliament representing Lithuania, got himself listed with other politicians that Russia blackballed for speaking up about democracy and freedom.

Daniel Negreanu posted two more videos in the last week. His quick poker tip of the week focused on what to do with a big stack… should you press it or conserve your chips? In the hand breakdown video of the week, Negreanu discusses a hand in the Shark Cage that Jen Shahade played against the legendary Phil Ivey.

The World Poker Tour completed its three-event California swing. Tough final table at the WPT Rolling Thunder. The $3,500 main event attracted 421 runners. First place paid out $285K. Mike Del Vecchio survived the difficult final table to win his first-ever WPT crown. He beat Sorrel Mizzi heads-up for the win. Also, making the final table were Connor Drinan, Olivier Busquet, and John Hadley.

Chino Rheem denied! Rheem, in hot pursuit his fourth WPT title, got stiff-armed by Sam Panzica. Rheem settled on a third-place finish and a $521K score. Panzica faded a field of 806 runners to win the 2017 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star. The record setting in San Jose, CA field boasted a prize pool worth $5.7 million, and Panzica shipped $1,373,000 for first place. Panzica now has two WPT titles.

Chino Rheem made another final table on the World Poker Tour. He's the chip leader at the WPT Shooting Star at Bay 101 Casino in San Jose, CA. Rheem holds three WPT titles and he's tied with Gus Hansen, Carlos Mortensen, and Darren Elias for most career WPT wins. Can he pull off a fourth crown? Also at the final table are... Rainer Kempe, Paul Volpe, Sam Panzica, Tony Spinella, and Dennis Stevemer. First plays pays out $1,373,000.

Tom Dwan is making tidal waves on the poker rumor mill this week. The superstar emerged from a Twitter hiatus with a tweet storm about the CIA and Wikileaks. In a recent video, Doug Polk shared his opinion of the infamous Durrrr Challenge with Dwan and Jungleman, plus the recent rumors that Dwan got involved in a sportsbetting scam for seven figures.

Daniel Negreanu posted two new videos in the last week or so on his YouTube channel. Negreanu offered up a tip and discussed an in-depth hand. The Tip of the Week video focused on how to deal with bad beats, which is worthy advice for both amateurs and pros. The hand discussion covered aggressive betting, or drawing a free card based on a heads-up hand in the Bahamas.

Phil Hellmuth appeared as himself in the Showtime series Billions. The show, about a powerful hedge fund manager on Wall Street, was created by Rounders co-writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien. The episode featured a fictitious Alpha Cup, a high-stakes charity tournament played by various Wall Street gurus. Hellmuth emceed the event and got to utter "Shuffle up and deal!" Plus, there was a minor reference to Black Friday and online poker getting shut down in America.

Sochi, Russia will play host to the largest tournament series in all of Russia for eleven days in May. PokerStars announced that they are sponsoring a brand new PokerStars Championship event at the Sochi Casino from May 20-31. Sochi hosted the Winter Olympics a few years ago and the Sochi Casino is one of the swankiest properties in all of Eastern Europe. The Main Event will have a guarantee of at least 150 million Rubles (equivalent of $2.6 million USD), which would make it the largest guaranteed tournament in the history of organized Russian tournament poker.
The crew at PokerStars TV assembled their latest Top 5 video. This one focuses on the Top 5 Biggest Poker Mistakes in different televised events. Some of these hands featured notable players such as Niall Farrell, WSOP Martin Jacobson, and Hollywood actress and Oscar nominee Jennifer Tilly.

Daniel 'deoxyribo' Strelitz won the 2017 L.A. Poker Classic main event at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, CA. The 2017 LAPC was also a stop on the World Poker Tour. Strelitz won $1 million and faded a field of 521 players. WPT announcer Mike Sexton made the final table and finished in fourth place. Other players at the final table included Jesse Martin, Richard Tuhrim, Jared Griener, and Simeon Naydenov.

PokerStars launched a newly themed-series of tournaments called MEGASTACK that will cater to low-stakes players with day jobs. The first batch of MEGASTACK events will take place at PokerStars LIVE at The Hippodrome Casino in the West End of London. For a modest buy-in of £175, players will get three opening flights of action and 50,000 in starting stacks. The first MEGASTACK is scheduled for April 7-9 and the second one is slated for May 5-7. More MEGASTACK events in various European locations will be announced soon.
