Say hello to the newest champion! Scott Blumstein from New Jersey won the 2017 WSOP Main Event Championship. The New Jersey pro won $8,150,000 for fading a field of 7,221 runners. On the third and final day of the final table, Blumstein came in with an overwhelming lead. French pro Ben Pollak busted in third place, which set up a heads-up bout between Blumstein and Dan Ott. Blumstein held a sizable advantage over Ott, who could not rally from behind and pull off the upset. Ott settled on a runner-up finish and $4.7 million in cash for a consolation prize. Blumstein only needed 65 hands to send Ott to the rail. Blumstein now added his name to an illustrious list of Main Event Champions.

The 2017 WSOP Main Event final table played down from 7 players to the final 3 on Friday night. We are only 2 more bustouts from crowning a new champion. Scott Blumstein came into the second day of the final table with a massive lead. He built up his stack to 226M. Dan Ott moved into second with 88M. And the short stack is Benjamin Pollak with 45.8M. Damien Salas got eliminated in seventh place. Bryan Piccoli's tear-jerking run ended in sixth place. Former November Niner Antoine Saout hit the bricks in fifth place. The U.K.'s John Hesp and his magical run came to an end when Ben Pollak picked him off in fourth place. Action resumes at 5:30pm local time. Can Blumstein hold off Ott and Pollak to win $8,150,000?

The final table of the 2017 WSOP Main Event kicked off on Thursday at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas. Only two players busted in the first day of action. Short-stacked Ben Lamb busted in ninth place and Jack Sinclair got eliminated in eighth place. John Hesp snagged the lead early, but the two big stacks rumbled and Scott Blumstein doubled through Hesp in a heck of a cooler with a set vs. top two in a 151M pot. With a big stack with over 178M, Blumstein holds nearly 50% of all chips in play. The final seven resume play on Friday at 5:30pm Vegas time.

The Main Event resumes tonight! The final nine will play down to the final six. On Friday, the final six will play down to the final three. On Saturday, the final three will play down to a champion. We compiled a quick list of some important stats and historical data for the World Series of Poker Main Event. For the first time since 2007, the Main Event will be played out in Las Vegas in the summer. No more November Nine! This year's champion will win $8,150,000 for first place. Since 1991, every single winner of the WSOP Main Event walked away with at least $1 million in cash. This year's Main Event marked the third-largest field in its history and the biggest field since the wake of Black Friday. And in an interesting side note, Jesus Ferguson finished the 2017 WSOP with 17 cashes (tied for most) and he earned enough POY points to land him in first place overall in the Player of the Year race.

Only 27 players remaining in the 2017 WSOP Main Event. At the start of Day 6, 85 players were still left in the hunt for the championship. By the end of the day, only 27 players remained and bracelet-winner Christian Pham bagged up the most chips. Kenny Hallaert and Mike Ruane were attempting to make back-to-back final tables in the Main Event. Kenny Hallaert's quest ended when he exited in 64th place. But Mike Ruane is still alive. Oh, and in the final bracelet event on the docket, Adrian Moreno from Southern California, won Event #74 Little One for One Drop for $528K score.

Argentina's Damian Salas ended Day 4 of the 2017 WSOP Main Event as the overall chip leader with 297 players remaining. However, all eyes were on Kenny Hallaert. The tournament director and pro from Belgium is making another deep run in the Main Event. He made the November Nine last year and didn't come close to winning, but he's back again this summer. Going into Day 4, Hallaert is third overall. Day 4 began with 1,084 players and when the day ended, only 297 remain.

The 2017 WSOP Main Event burst their bubble late on Day 3. A total of 1,084 runners are still alive. All remaining players who return on Day 4 are guaranteed a mon-cash. Pat Lavecchia bagged up the most chips with 1.55M. Pawel Brezski is second with 1.54M. Former November Niner Antoine Sauot is third overall with 1.53M. Three former Main Event champs still alive: Scotty Nguyen, Joe Cada, and Carlos Mortensen.

And we're officially dunzo with WSOP Main Event Day 2C. All the remaining players will combine into one field for Day 3. Artan Dedusha from the U.K. bagged up the most chips at the end of Day 2C with over 680K. Also, American pro Ryan Hughes was lurking in the top 5. A total number of approximately 2,600 players remain with the top 1,084 players getting a cut of the prize pool. The money bubble is expected to pop late on Day 3.

The second day of the 2017 WSOP Main Event played out flights Day 2A and 2B. Only 1,100 players advanced to Day 3 from those two flights. At the end of the night, the United Kingdom's Lawrence Bayley bagged up the most chips with 618K. Mickey Craft was second with 608K. Former champs Greg Raymer and Joe Hachem advanced to Day 3, along with Jon Duhamel. Defending champion Qui Nguyen's reign officially ended when he busted on Day 2. On Wednesday, Day 2C will kick off at noon with approximately 3,300 runners still alive in the third and final leg of Day 2.

The opening flights of the 2017 WSOP Main Event are complete. The numbers are in and it's gonna be a juicy payout this year. A total of 7,221 players bought into the $10,000 Main Event Championship. That number marked the third-highest field in history. The total prize pool is $67,877,400 with $8,150,000 set aside to the next champ. Only 2,219 players survived the cut at the end of Day 1, which was split up into three flights.

Nipun 'Javatinii' Java won Event #71 WSOP.com ONLINE NL Championship for a score worth nearly $238K. Java won a bracelet in the tag team event earlier this summer. Java joined David Bach as the only double winners at the 2017 WSOP. Also, on Sunday afternoon, Heidi May shipped Event #70 $10,000 NL Ladies Championship. The Aussie pro defeated Deb the Destroyer from the U.K. heads-up for the victory. And over in Event #72 $10K Stud, Mike Wattel ended an 18-year drought with his second-career bracelet win. In the process, Wattel denied Jesus Ferguson a bracelet during an epic 6-hour heads-up battle.

Another action-packed Saturday in Las Vegas at the Rio Casino for the 2017 WSOP. Three players won bracelets for the first time. Harrison Gimbel secured his first bracelet by shipping Event #68 $3,000 NL to become the latest (unofficial) Triple Crown winner. After three runner-up finishes and numerous final tables, Chris Klodnicki finally won a bracelet! Klodnicki binked Event #66 $1,500 NL. That donkament needed overtime with a fourth day to finish out his heads-up battle between Klodnicki and Emile Schiff. Meanwhile, Jason Gola won Event #69 $1,500 Razz for his first-ever bracelet win. Gola, an IT guru from Chicago, outlasted a difficult final table and denied Phil Hellmuth his 15th bracelet.

In the end, British pro Elior Sion defeated Germany's Johannes Becker heads-up for the bracelet and the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy. Event #60 $888 Crazy Eights NL 8-Handed needed an additional day to finish up the heads-up bout between Romania's Alexandru Papazian and Germany's Kilian Kramer. Alexandru Papazian faded a field of 8,120 runners and picked off Kramer to win the Romania's first-ever bracelet. Papazian shipped $888,888 in cash for the Crazy Eights win. Rulah Divine faded 1,750 runners and outlasted a difficult final table to win Event #63 $1,000 NL. German TV game show winner, Sebastian Langrock, emerged victorious in Event #64 $1,500 NLHE/PLO 8-Handed Mix. Also, in the turbo-charged event, Shai Zurr earned another bracelet for Israel with a win in Event #65 $1,000 NL (30 minute levels).

Colorful fireworks illuminated the dessert skies over Las Vegas. Americans celebrated the country's birthday. The Fourth of July celebrations spilled over into the Rio Casino, where several events were playing down to the bling. The $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship continued with 44 players in the hunt for the bracelet and the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy. At the end of Day 3, only 15 remained... and all 15 locked up a min-cash. Two-time champ The Grinder bubbled off the money in 16th place. Isaac Haxton bagged up the most chips with nearly 3.3M, with 2013 PPC Champ Matthew Ashton right behind with 3.3M. Also still left in the hunt... Artur Rudziankov became the Czech Republic's only second-ever bracelet winner with a victory in Event #58 $1,500 NL, which needed an extra day to play out the heads-up battle against Mario Prats. Meanwhile, Tom 'FLOATZ' Cannuli binked Event #61 $3,333 WSOP.com ONLINE NL High Roller. Cannuli outlasted a stacked final table to win the second online bracelet of the 2017 WSOP. Tommy Le shipped Event #54 $10,000 PLO8 Championship for a $938,732 score. Both of Tommy Le's brothers are pros and the trio of Le brothers (Nam, Allan, and Tommy) have won a combined $14 million. Meanwhile, an unknown cash-game regular from Southern California came out of nowhere to win Event #57 $2,500 Omaha8/Seven-Card Stud8 Mix. Smith Sirisakorn, a lawyer/restaurant owner originally from Thailand, won $216K in only his second-ever WSOP event.
