Truth or Bluff for a Platinum Pass

If you have a Twitter account, then you have a chance to win a Platinum Pass to the inaugural PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas in January 2019. The winner of the Truth or Bluff freeroll on March 4 at 19:00 ET on PokerStars will win a Platinum Pass valued at $30K. Twitter users will earn a free seat to the freeroll if they participate in Truth or Bluff promotion. On every Tuesday for the next three weeks, PokerStars will post a video on Twitter and Facebook and you must determine if the pro is bluffing or tell the truth. Philipp Gruissem joins partypoker

Another high-profile player joins Team partypoker. German pro Philipp Gruissem is the most recent addition to the ranks of partypoker's sponsored players. In only nine years as a professional, Gruissem won $11 million in live tournaments. Known as ‘philbort' at the virtual tables, Gruissem won another $3.5 million playing online poker. Gruissem is heavily involved in philanthropy and co-founded Raising for Effective Giving, in which poker pros donate 2% of their winnings to high-efficient charities, where donations will have the biggest impact.

Back-to-back wins for Kalidou Sow

Kalidou Sow is on a heater! Sow, a businessman and consultant from Paris, France, binked the PokerStars Championship Prague Main Event last month. And just last night, Sow won the PokerStars Festival London Main Event. Sow outlasted a field of 852 runners to win £121,803, plus a coveted Platinum Pass to the 2019 PokerStars Players Championship in the Bahamas. ElkY parts ways with PokerStars

Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier tweeted a brief statement explaining he is no longer a member of Team Pro at PokerStars. Add ElkY's name to the growing list of pros, including Vanessa Selbst and Jason Mercier, who departed from the ranks of PokerStars in 2018. No other French player has won more money that ElkY, who banked over $13.5 million in live tournament winnings. In 2008, ElkY won the PCA in the Bahamas for a $2 million score and he won the WPT Bellagio later that year. ElkY completed the "Triple Crown" in 2011 after winning his first WSOP bracelet. Let's not forget, poker is ElkY's second career. The professional gamer and esports legend is currently a member of Team Liquid and a Hearthstone pro.

2018 Aussie Millions: Kitty Kuo leads $25K Challenge

The 2018 Aussie Millions at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia is underway. The first flight of the $10,600 buy-in Main Event begins Sunday. It's a high roller's paradise down under with multiple affairs such as the $25K Challenge, $50K Challenge and $100K Challenge. Kitty Kuo is the chipleader with 19 players remaining in the $25K. Darryll Fish banks $511K with WPT Lucky Hearts victory

Ship it to Fish! Darryll Fish took down the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Fish outlasted 911 players to win the title and $511K in cash. Fish also earned a seat in the Tournament of Champions. The WPT also announced the addition of the Bobby Baldwin Classic, a $10,000 buy-in event which will end Season XVI of the WPT and take place before the Tournament of Champions in late May at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas.

Isaac Haxton joins Team partypoker

American pro Issac Haxton joined the ranks of Team partypoker. Haxton tweeted he "really pumped" to join partypoker, who has been aggressively signing high stakes pros over the last year including Fedor Holz and Jason Koon. "Party is doing great things," added Ike Haxton, who joins other members of Team partypoker including Sam Trickett, Dzmitry Urbanovich, and Kristen Bicknell.

PokerStars Championship Cash Challenge - Episodes 1 and 2

The first two episode of the PokerStars Championship Cash Challenge has been released. The Cash Challenge filmed in Monte Carlo featured Mila Monroe from Germany battling a festive table that included comedian Kevin Hart and a quartet of pros: Liv Boeree, Charlie Carrel, Faraz Jaka, and Daniel Negreanu. They played a NL cash game with €25/€50 blinds and a min buy-in of €10K and €25K max. The first episode included a crazy hand from Kevin Hart that was utterly redonkulous.

$1 million bad beat jackpot largest in U.S. history

Quad Queens vs. quad treys for $1 million. The largest bad beat jackpot in American casino history occurred Tuesday night at the Motor City Casino in Detroit, Michigan. The loser of the hand with quad treys and winner of the bad beat took home over $427K. The player with quad Queens earned nearly $213K. With only six playing at the time, the other four earned the table share worth nearly $107K each!

Jason Mercier parts ways with PokerStars

American pro Jason Mercier will no longer be a sponsored pro for PokerStars. After 8.5 years as a Team Pro, Mercier decided to not renew his contract, which expired at the end of 2017. Mercier is a new father and he made the tough decision to stop traveling internationally to play tournaments, while focusing on his family instead. In addition to Vanessa Selbst's venture into hedge funds, Mercier is the second high-profile American pro who did not renew their sponsorships with PokerStars in 2018.

2018 PCA: Ivan Luca and Daniel Negreanu lead Super High Roller final table

And then there were seven! The 2018 PCA Super High Roller had a $100K price tag and a total prize pool worth $4.7M. Only seven players are remaining at the final table. January 1, 2018 marked the 20th anniversary of online poker when Planet Poker became the first virtual card room to host real money games. Planet Poker took their first steps into online poker approximately nine months before Rounders appeared in movie theaters. Talk about a blast from the past. Vanessa Selbst retiring from professional poker

Another American pro is hanging it up in 2018. On New Year's Eve, Vanessa Selbst posted on Facebook her intentions to step away from the game on a professional level. Selbst took the poker world by storm when she was still a student at Yale law school. The 33-year old Selbst amassed $11.8 million in tournament winnings and won three WSOP bracelets. After 12 years in poker, Selbst will shift her focus to the financial world as a strategic analyst at a hedge fund.
