Poker definition

Abbreviation for “proposition player,” this is a player who is hired by a card room to play in cash games, usually during off-peak hours to make sure games are running. Props receive an hourly wage for how long they play, but they are not staked by the card room and must play with their own money (which means they absorb any losses and net any wins).
