In February, the Sunday Million 12th Anniversary on PokerStars missed its $10 million guarantee. The overlay was a juicy $1.2 million, with first-place banking a cool million. PokerStars will run a similar promotion for the Sunday Million on Sunday, April 22 at 14:00. The Sunday Million 12th Anniversary: Take 2 will have a $10M guaranteed prize pool, including a first-place price worth $1 million. To sweeten the reprise of the 12th anniversary, PokerStars added Platinum Passes to the mix. Participants will have multiple shots at winning a package to the $25K PSPC at the 2019 PCA.

Mulligan. Take two. Do-over. My bad. Sorry it was so quick. Hey, sometimes weird things happen and you fall short of your goal. In the poker world, guaranteed prize pools often attract a swarm of edge seekers. I mean, who doesn't love free money? Especially when it doesn't require you to put on pants or leave the comfy confines of your abode.
PokerStars hosted a mega-party back in February. It was the Sunday Million's 12th birthday. To celebrate the milestone, PokerStars offered up a guaranteed first-place prize worth $1 million with a total prize pool guarantee of $10 million. It seemed like an afterthought when the promotion was first announced. Alas, the party was hopping, but not quite a full house. Okay, it was sparser than expected. The overlay missed by $1.2 million. Yikes! A seven-figure overlay is rare these days.
Usually when something like that backfires, you'd expect a suit to lower the guarantee for the next promo. Not this time. They're running it again. The same exact specs -- $10 million guarantee and $1 million to first place. Ah, but there's a twist... Platinum Passes will be in play.
I like their aggressive approach to double down and run the same promo. It's clever because this time it's gonna hit. The word is out. Heck, I've written a couple posts about the Sunday Million Take 2. And who doesn't want a free shot at going to the Bahamas next January?
Mark your calendars. The Sunday Million 12th Anniversary: Take 2. will happen this Sunday, April 22 on PokerStars at 14:00 ET. Usual $215 buy-in will get you a shot at a $10 million prize pool with at least $1 million for first place. A seven-figure payout for a mere $215 investment is a sick-sick-dope-sick ROI. Not to mention those coveted Platinum Passes worth over $30K that includes the buy-in to the $25K PokerStars Players Championship at the 2019 PCA.
Who doesn't like to gamble on random things? Betting markets have opened for the upcoming Sunday Million 12th Anniversary: Take 2. BetStars is accepting wagers on prop bets for the total prize pool and number of entrants. The market opened at 2/1 that the guarantee will hit this time.

There's also an additional long shot wager. Bet Stars listed "Platinum Pass winner going on to win the PSPC" at a whopping 1000/1. Hey, why not take a flier on that one and throw down a couple quid?
I'm mostly a basketball/football prognosticator and have never wagered on the Sunday Million numbers. But in this instance, might as well load up on the OVER $10M and over 57K entrants. With Platinum Passes to sweeten the pot, in addition to the promotion of the Sunday Million: Take 2, it seems like a logical outcome that the guarantee will hit. Fade the overlay! Find out what happens this Sunday at PokerStars for the Sunday Million 12th Anniversary: Take 2.
