It's been a wild summer of online events at WSOP.com and GGPoker, but the global version of the 2021 World Series of Poker Online capped off their epic series with the final table of the 2021 WSOP Online Main Event Championship, which was open to non-Americans and an international audience at GGPoker.
If you dig overlays, the WSOP Online Main Event at GGPoker had an overlay alert! 2021 WSOP Online Event #27 had a $5,000 price tag and a $563K overlay after it just missed the $20 million guaranteed prize pool with just 4,092 runners at GGPoker.
A total of 450 runners got a cut of the WSOP Online Main Event prize pool, with most of the cheesecake set aside to the top four spots, including over $2.5 million to the champion and seven-figure payouts to the top four. Everyone at the final table of nine banked at least a quarter-million bucks with ninth place locking up $254,308.
The final table included pro Joe 'assisup4rent' Serock along with Greece's Dimitrios Farmakoulis, Poland's Dawid Smolka, Brail's Renan 'legal' Meneguetti, Norway's Espen 'COVFEFE-19' Jorstad, Chistine 'Yunaa" Do from Canada, Brazil's Edson 'CrownUpTsu' Tsutsumi, and a pair of Russians with Nikita 'VSMPZD' Kuznetsov and Aleksei 'Ha KoJleHu' Vandyshev.
As per usual, a Brazilian went deep and almost shipped the Main Event, but could not outlast the Russian. Alas, the two of the final three players were Russian with deep runs from Nikita 'VSMPZD' Kuznetsov and Aleksei 'Ha KoJleHu' Vandyshev.
Serock hit the bricks in fifth place, which paid out $804L. Do's epi run ended in fourth place, but she banked a cool million for her efforts.
Nikita 'VSMPZD' Kuznetsov bowed out in third place, which paid out $1.43 million. After Kuznetsov's bustout, the Main Event and bracelet came down to Brazil vs. Russia.
Edson 'CrownUpTsu' Tsutsumi, inspired by German wunderkind Fedor Holz, saw their momentous run end in second place. For a runner-up finish, Tsutsumi banked $1.9 million and missed out on winning another bracelet for Brazil. Not too shabby, eh?
Aleksei 'Ha KoJleHu' Vandyshev from Russia was the last player standing in Event #27. The Main Event paid out $2,543,073 to first place, plus the shiny bling.
