The 2020 European Poker Tour Online series came to a close when WhatIfGod from Sweden outlasted a field of 1,034 to win the $5,200 buy-in Main Event. WhatIfGod defeated Timothy Adams heads-up for the Main Event title and $1,019,081. Bert 'girafganger7' Stevens took down two events at the EPT Online series. Other notables who won events at the EPT Online series included Tatiana 'Mysters_Y' Barausova and Mikita Badziakouski.

If you're keeping score at home, PokerStars successfully completed their first-ever European Poker Tour Online Series. The folks that run the EPT had to cancel or postpone many of their tour events in Europe due to the pandemic in 2020, so PokerStars did the next best thing by migrating their popular series online at their own virtual tables.

PokerStars hosted 20 events for the EPT Online, which they intended to replicate a similar schedule of events for a stop like the EPT London.

The Main Event just concluded. The $5,200 buy-in affair attracted 924 initial runners who fired away at 380 additional re-entries for a final tally of 1,304 entrants. The prize pool soared to $6.5 million with at least a cool million set aside for the champion.

The final table included WhatIfGod (Sweden), Timothy 'Tim0thee' Adams (Canada), David 'MissOracle' Yan (New Zealand), tikidiii (Finland), Viacheslav 'VdV1990' Buldygin (Russia), Enio 'Bozzano JNR' Bozzano (Brazil), Andreas 'daskalos20' Christoforou (Netherlands), vip25459 (Kazakhstan), and American pro Jon 'apestyles' Van Fleet. vip25459 (Kazakhstan). The tops even places paid out at least six figures, but all the money and cheesecake was set aside to the champ.

apestyles went deep, but his run ended in eight place, where he won just short of six figures with a $97.3K score. Enio 'Bozzano JNR' Bozzano, the lone Brazilian at the final table, hit the bricks in sixth place. David 'MissOracle' Yan from New Zealand busted in third place, which paid out $521K. Yan's elimination set up the heads-up battle between WhatIfGod and Timothy 'Tim0thee' Adams.

Yes, it was Sweden vs. Canada for all the beans, bragging rights, and cool million in cash.

WhatIfGod is no stranger to the winner's circle. The cagey Swede won two WCOOP titles back in 2014 during a sensational hot streak.

Timothy 'Tim0thee' Adams is no slouch either. The Canadian pro banked over $24 million in live tournamnets. Only KidPoker won more cash in tournaments for Canada than Adams. The $24M live cash earnings is high enough to put Adams at 20th all-time.

Despite the insane accolades and a bankroll that's larger than the GDP of most developing nations, Adams could not knock off WhatIfGod. The Swede prevailed and sent the Canadian pro to the virtual rail in second place.

Adams banked $728,632 for a runner-up finish. Not too shabby, eh? WhatIfGod earned a first-place payday worth $1,019,081.

Moving on… in other EPT Online action, PokerStars hosted 19 other events. Only one player won multiple titles, which is sincerely rad for a 20-event series. Bert 'girafganger7' Stevens won EPT Online Event #8 $2,100 NL for $88K and he binked Event #15 6-Max Turbo High Roller for $186K.

DON JOHAN (Norway) won EPT Online Event #1 aka the Arena Championship. The Norwegian faded 2,426 runners to win $356,768.

Ka Kwan 'kaju85' Lau from Andorra took down EPT Online Event #2 $10K PLO High Roller. David 'MonkeyBausss' Laka took down the $5K High Roller by defeating Pascal Lefrancois heads-up for the title.

Russia's Tatiana 'Mysters_Y' Barausova chopped Event #3 $530 NL. Claas 'Ssick_OnE' Segebrecht shipped EPT Online Event #4 Win the Button.

Mikita 'fish2013' Badziakouski and Matthias 'iambest2' Eibinger chopped Event #6 $10K High Roller for roughly $22K each.

Finland won a couple titles. Eelis 'EEE27' Parssinen from Finland binked Event #10 $25K Super High Roller for $539,819 by edging out Christian Rudolph heads-up for the title. Over in Event #17, Jens 'Jeans89' Kyllonen shipped the $2,100 PLO 6-Max title.

Daniel 'SmilleThHero' Smiljkovic (Austria) won Event #7 $100. Holland's Daan 'DanOss' Mulders won EPT Event #11 $1,050 NL Deep Stack.

RaulGonzalez took down Event #9 $5,200 8-Game High Roller by defeating Dzmitry Urbanovich heads-up for the title and $100K in cash.

German pros crushed in the EPT as per usual: Fabian Gumz binked Event #12 6-Max PKO. In Event #14, Dominik Nitsche won the EPT Online Cup.

In Event #13, Sam Greenwood won the $10K 6+Hold'em High Roller.

Brazil's Pedro 'PaDiLhA SP' Padilha emerged victorious in Event #18 $1,050 Turbo PKO. Dani 'danipesis' Palau took down Event #19 $530 NL PKO.

Argentina's Damian 'pampa27' Salas won the final event. Salas shipped EPT Online Event #20 $1,050 NL Last Chance. He edged out Phillipe 'takechip' D'Auteil to win the final event of the inaugural EPT Online.
