After a summer-long hiatus to focus on the World Series of Poker, Daniel Negreanu return to posting fresh content on his YouTube channel. Negreanu resumed his weekly hand breakdowns. In the latest episode, Negreanu broke down a hand he played against Johnny Chan during a taping of the popular TV show Poker After Dark. Chan rivered a monster, but could Negreanu show restraint and fold a straight?
You know the saying, "I didn't fly all the way to Vegas to fold!" That's why it's hard to bluff tourists and why it's easy money to get paid off by value bets against gregarious dead money. Daniel Negreanu, one of the hardest working men in the poker world, returned with a spanking-new video. Danny Boy is back with a hand breakdown.
In his latest video posted to his popular YouTube channel, Negreanu discussed a hand at the peak of his “Kid Poker” days. Negreanu appeared on Poker After Dark against the legendary Johnny Chan. If you're an avid fan of the show, then you know about this epic hand battle that went down between Negreanu and Chan. In this particular episode, Negreanu held versus Chan
.
The flop was 5h-3d-2s. Chan fired out half the pot and Negreanu min-raised the flop. Chan eventually called. Negreanu explained his goofy play, which he stated was a standard LHE play under similar circumstances. Kid Poker also explained how he knew Chan would never three-bet him, so he made that move. The Ad on the turn improved Chan to Aces up, but Negreanu took the lead with the Wheel.
The Ace of spades fell on the river, which filled in a boat for Chan and crushed Negreanu's straight. With $19K in the pot, Chan fired out again for $7K...and a chatty Negreanu had to figure out what to do against Johnny F-n Chan. Negreanu went into the tank, but he was looking for an excuse to call. Kid Poker yapped and yapped about Chan rivering a full house and noted some hands Chan probably didn't hold.
Negreanu eventually folded and Chan put him on pocket fours for the straight. Negreanu explained his reasoning behind the fold on the river, which hinged upon what he read Chan held on the flop and turn.
Oh, by the way... Poker After Dark is returning! Great news for all of you PAD super fans. Poker After Dark will be a part of PokerGo's coverage and returning… soon.
