Who's gonna ship $1.6 million? The WPT Five Diamond World Classic at the Bellagio is down to the final six players. Jake Schwartz is the chip leader with 7.2M. Also making the cut: Kevin Eyster, Ben Yu, Eddie Ochana, Cate Hall, and William Jennings. The final table resumes Saturday at 4pm PT local time in Vegas.

Down to six at the Bellagio.

 

The final table for the WPT Five Diamond World Classic is set. First place is almost $1.6 million. Who's gonna take down the last big tournament in 2015?

 

The final day is shaping up as a battle between two big stacks and four smaller stacks. Jake Schwartz is in front with 7.2M and Kevin Eyster is also sitting on the other big stack with a shade under 6M.

 

Cate Hall advanced to the final table, but she's next to last in chips with 1.3M. The proverbial short stack is William Jennings, who is in serious need of a double up with under 1M.

A total of 639 players took a shot at the $10,400 buy-in event. Only the top 63 places paid out. Day 5 of the Five Diamond began with 21 players.

Tournament Wrap-Up: Moneymaker, Hawkins, Watson, and Deutsch

It's been a busy week of tournaments all over the world. Chris Moneymaker and Mike Watson shipped events at the Triton Poker Series in Montenegro. Moneymaker banked $903K for his first victory, while Watson took down his fourth Triton title for a little over $1 million. Maurice Hawkins added to his ring collection with victory #16 at the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Cherokee Main Event. Meanwhile, Joel Deutsch took down the Borgata Spring Poker Open Main Event in Atlantic City where there was a rare overlay.

Holland's Derk van Luijk wins 2024 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event for €1 million

The 2024 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event attracted 1,208 entrants this year and a total prize pool worth over €5.8 million. Derk van Luijk from the Netherlands rode a tsunami of good fortune on the way to his victory worth €1 million. He defeated Boris Angelov heads up for the Main Event title. In addition, Patrik Antonius shipped the 2024 EPT Monte Carlo €100K Super High Roller for €1.97 million.

2024 US Poker Open: Aram Zobian claims USPO championship, Stephen Chidwick wins $25K finale

The 2024 US Poker Open concluded at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. Stephen Chidwick was the last player standing in the finale when he defeated Andrew Lichtenberger heads up and shipped Event #8 $25,200 NL for $429,000. Other 2024 USPO event winners included Aram Zobian, Erik Seidel, Matt Wantman, Eric Afriat, Dan Smith, David Coleman, and Jesse Lonis. Aram Zobian locked up the overall 2024 USPO championship when he topped the leaderboard with 616 points thanks to four cashes including one victory in Event #6 and a runner-up finish.

2024 SCOOP: PokerStars releases full schedule with 128 events

Get ready for the 2024 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). PokerStars released a full schedule for this year's SCOOP, which marks its 16th installment, and will begin on May 5 and run through May 29. There will be a total of 128 events and like all COOPs, this will have three tiers of buy-ins with low, medium, and high buy-in levels. Samuli Sipila claimed PGT PLO Series championship

The latest high roller series on the PokerGoTour in in the books at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. Samuli Sipila from Finland secured the PGT Gold Cup when he claimed the PGT PLO Series championship by finishing at the top of the leaderboard. Sipila won two events -- Event #4 #10K PLO and Event #7 $15K PLO Progressive Bounty and banked over $1 million in prize money and bounties at the PGT PLO Series.

2024 SCOOP returns to PokerStars on May 5

The popular Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) returns to PokerStars global on May 5 and runs through May 29 for 25 days of nonstop poker action. Other versions of SCOOP will be available for players in Southern Europe and Italy starting April 7, and in North America starting on April 5. Felipe 'lipe piv' Boianovsky is the defending 2023 SCOOP Main Event champ after the Brazilian shipped over $1 million.

Max Hoffman wins PGT Mixed Games championship

The PokerGo Tour concluded their fun mixed-games high roller series over the weekend at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. Even though Max Hoffman did not win any of the ten events on the PGT Mixed Games schedule, his two runner-up finishes and five overall cashes propelled him to the top of the leaderboard. Hoffman was crowned the 2024 PGT Mixed Games Champion.

2024 Asian Poker Tour: Elky, Isaac Haxton ship events at APT Taipei

The 2024 Asian Poker Tour completed two big events in Tawain over the weekend. American pro Isaac Haxton shipped the APT Taipei Super High Roller for a score worth nearly $291K USD. Meanwhile, French pro Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier was the last player standing in the APT Taipei Superstar Challenge when he outlasted 49 runners to win $367K.

Barny Boatman wins 2024 EPT Paris for €1.28M

Barny Boatman, an English pro and one of the original members of the Hendon Mob, shipped the 2024 EPT Paris Main Event Championship for a score worth €1,287,800. The 68-year-old Boatman became the oldest player to win an EPT event when he outlasted a field of 1,224 entries in Paris. Boatman edged out a final table that included German pro David Kaufmann, Aleksejs Ponakovs, Owen Dodd, Eric Afriat, and Peter Jorgne who was last year's runner-up in Paris.

2024 WSOP schedule finally released

The 2024 World Series of Poker returns to the Horseshoe Casino and Paris Casino in Las Vegas for the 55th running of the most prestigious tournament series in the world. The schedule is out and the 2024 WSOP has 99 events which begins May 28 and will run through July 17. The $10,000 buy-in Main Event Championship has four opening days beginning on July 3 through July 6. The final table will take place on July 16 and 17 at the Horseshoe.

Artur Martirosyan ships two PGT Last Chance titles

Artur Martirosyan finished in first place on the PGT Last Chance Leaderboard after he shipped two events on the final series of the PokerGo Tour season at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. Daniel Negreanu, Samuel Laskowitz, Dylan DeStefano, and Nick Schulman also won titles in the six-event high roller series at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. This is the last series before the season-ending PGT Championship $1,000,000 Freeroll which begins this week.

Dan Sepiol wins 2023 WPT Championship for $5.28 million

The record-setting 2023 World Poker Tour Championship at the Wynn Las Vegas is over. Dan Sepiol outlasted a field of 3,835 runners to win the $10,400 buy-in WPT Championship for a score worth $5,282,954. He edged out Georgios Sotiropoulos heads-up to win the title, and survived a tough final table that included Andrew 'LuckyChewy' Lichtenberger, Chris Moorman, Ben Heath, and Artur Martirosian.

2023 EPT Prague: Ireland Padraig O'Neill wins Main Event with sick comeback

Even though he was on the brink of elimination, Ireland's Padraig O'Neill never panicked, and he overcome a massive chip deficit to upset Norway's Jon Kyte to win the €5,300 buy-in 2023 PT Prague Main Event. The final stop on the EPT attracted a record-setting 1,285 runners and O'Neill bagged a first place payday worth a cool million Euros.

2023 WSOP Paradise: Erik Seidel wins tenth bracelet

American pro Erik Seidel won his tenth bracelet in the Bahamas, and he joined an exclusive club of double-digit bracelet winners including Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, and Phil Hellmuth. Seidel banked $1.7 million for outlasting a stacked final table in 2023 WSOP Paradise Event #7 $50,000 Super High Roller NL. Siedel edged out Seth Gottlieb heads-up for the victory and he tied Chan, Brunson, and Ivey with 10 bracelets each.
