The first bracelet of the 2017 WSOP Europe was up for grabs at the King's Casino in Rozvadov. Oleksandr Shcherbak from Ukraine won nearly €118K and the bracelet for taking down Event #1 €1,100 NL MONSTER STACK.

Say hello to the WSOP Europe's first bracelet winner in Rozavadov! Oleksandr Shcherbak became the third player to win a bracelet from Ukraine. The pro outlasted 561 players to win 2017 WSOPE Event #1 €1,100 NL MONSTER STACK. Shcherbak took down almost €118K for first place.
The field in the opening event included a few legends such as Phil Hellmuth and Jesus Ferguson, but both failed to make the money cut.
Italian pro Walter Treccarichi busted in fifth place. Fellow Italian Carlo Savinelli took fourth. Sergio Fernandez went into the final table with the big stack, but he busted in third place.
It came down to a heads-up battle between Oleksandr Shcherbak and Viliyan Petleshkov. Ukraine vs. Bulgaria. Heads-up lasted 36 hands. At hand #102 at the final table, Petleshkov bowed out in second place. Good old Ace-Queen versus pocket sevens. Oleksandr Shcherbak turned a set of sevens, which held up. Oleksandr Shcherbak won the pot and the tournament. Ship the first bracelet to Ukraine! Shcherbak earned a first-place payday worth €117,708. This was his first live cash of note.
Alexandre Viard bubbled off the official final table in tenth place. Pierre Neu ville bubbled off the unofficial final table in 11th place. American Ryan Hughes went deep but he busted in 20th place.
